After thorough evaluations, the Texans have reportedly decided to pick up David Carr's $8 million contract option.

The progress and talent Carr showed in years two and three of his career haven't evaporated. Why start over? With an offensive-minded coach like Denver's Gary Kubiak heading to Houston, Carr is likely to be atop our QB 'sleepers' next year.

The problem I'd have with Carr were he here is he makes 8 million, is basically a 5th year rookie because he has been able toshow so little behind a line which was even worse than what we fielded after injuries and with a good year is gonna actually expect a raise, lol.

Were I Houston I would ask Carr to renegotiate for 2 or 3 years at about 5 to 6 mil per or I would have passed on the option and moved on.
