1st - Prince Amukamara
No trades, and no reaching for players with a #9 overall pick. He's the best player available at our pick, and a need pick. I think Prince is the best man coverage corner in the draft, and a good tackler. You can play him behind Newman, move Newman to slot and play Prince in his position, etc... He opens up options for the secondary.
2nd - Ben Ijalana
I like his quickness and strength. I think he's a plug and play right tackle and #40 is a good spot to get him.
3rd - Will Rackley
I like his versatility and strength. I see Dallas moving him inside to guard.
4th - Jerrell Powe
The ultimate boom or bust player, but I like the options he'd bring to the d-line if he could just get in for a few snaps now and again. His size and strenghth could allow Rob Ryan some interesting packages.
5th - Casey Mathews
I know he's an in vogue player right now, and I'm probably not as high on him as some others are. What I really like though is his ability to get after the QB and to drop into coverage. He's a situational LB, but I see a lot of situations where you could use him.
6th - Stevan Ridley
I like his running style. He's a power back that's got some moves. He'd make a nice replacement for Barber.
7th - Mark LeGree
I just like the potential. I think he could play either safety position with some time, and make a nice special teams player.
7th - Kris Durham
Crayton like posession receiver with pretty good speed.
It's a no frills mock, but I think it's a pretty safe mock and addresses needs in the secondary, offensive line, defensive line, line backers, running back, and wide receiver depth.
