No Huddle Offense

I would like to see the Cowboys run a lot more no huddle offense this season. I know we are going to run the ball a lot more but it would be nice to see the Cowboys change things up a bit to keep teams guessing. According to a lot of teams we played the Cowboys were very predictable on Offense.

I personally think Romo plays his best when he is running the No Huddle Offense. He seems to get into a better rhythm and spreads the ball around more.

I think we're just fine operating out of the huddle. Keeps players fresher throughout the game.

didnt the bills run a no huddle offense in their super bowl runs?

Yes, I watched something on the NFL network several months ago and they talked about the Bills no huddle offense.

If I remember correctly the Bills were .500 halfway through the season before they started running the No Huddle Offense. After they started running No Huddle their Offense exploded.

Certain people on this board believe we already run a "hurry up" offense.

It'd be smart to at least have the ability to go no huddle once in a while.

We don't have to use it each half or even every game, but just on occasion when it looks like it will give the opposing defense a problem.

The same goes for the Razorback.

Give defenses more to think about and force them to use limited practice time game planning situations they may not even see during the game.

I'm sure these same people also ignore all the delay of game penalties we got also.:

That's just an elaborate deception to make defenses think we aren't in hurry up mode.

Would be nice if we sped up the process though. Last year we were horrific at getting plays in and going quickly. For some reason we didn't do that in '07 with Garrett, then we fell into a turtle's pace with the plays and usually waited until about :01 left on the playclock. Opposing defenses could time the snap better and had a better idea of what we were looking to do.

You can run out of the no huddle, even if you're doing the 'K-Gun' offense no huddle (instead of the Colts' no-huddle which is really just there to give Peyton the time to call his plays). The thing with the hurry up no-huddle is you need a tailback that is a great screen and swing pass receiver, a very accurate QB and good hands with the receivers. The Bills probably did the greatest job of running the hurry up no huddle I ever saw and it's an amazingly effective method if you have the personnel for it. I remember seeing it destroy many of the Bills opponents and often times when a game was close, they could get the hurry up no-huddle to work for a couple of series, score some quick TD's and put the game out of reach.

It would be cool if we line up 4 wide, with Roy, Crayton, Witten, and Bennett as the recievers just to get the defense to play a nickel or something. Then run the hurry up, and just go into a 2TE set. I don't know if that's legal or how effective it would be.

Maybe not a true no Huddle, but change the tempo of the offense once in awhile, by going no huddles for a couple plays here and there, make the defense react and catch them off guard, with 3 good RBs they can create havoc on defenders. See an opportunity and take it.

i agree we have great success in no huddle. Romo kills defense when we are trying to get points because we need to.

I agree.

I don't want to see it used all the time but sometimes this team looks incredibly flat and I think the no huddle offense would be a great adrenaline shot for this team at times.

Romo would be incredibly tough for teams to try and stop when he is doing things on the fly.

Hopefully we will see it more this year.

I personally do not like the No Huddle style of Offense. I think a 3 and out by the Offense really handicaps the Defense and they have to play tired.

Can't see why it would be illegal.

Hell, you put those 4 on the field, Dallas could do almost any formation they wanted.

Very true. Although I think if the team failed on 1st and 2nd down they might huddle up for a little time before 3rd down.

Romo is very good running the 2-minute offense, so we should definitely use it alot

I still don't like it. I want the Offensive Time of Possession to be high. I want their Defense to be as tired as they can be. That is why I like smashmouth football too.

I totally agree. Especially for this team. 3 VERY capable backs, there should never be a game where Dallas isn't winning the TOP battle.
