No Moore

So it's okay if your rookie lawyer loses your lawsuit? Or your rookie doctor misdiagnoses you? Hell no. And a rookie OC should be able to not screw up so big too.

Rookie doctors and lawyers aren't allowed to operate without a more experienced professional as a 2nd chair

I’m not blaming Moore at all. 12 games into a career. People expect way too much in a short period. The front office and coach never seem to take a learning curve into consideration when you have team ready to make a run? Facts are the entire system in all 3 phases simply isn’t working. not Moore’s fault. I think he could be a great long term coach. Nothing but a career in the fetus stage at this point in time. I have no doubt he’ll be back to haunt this team somewhere down the road if this ends up being his last season here.

Anyone ever notice how when Zeke runs, it seems like the entire defense is in the hole he is running to BEFORE he actually gets there?

I bet that the formation or alignment is tipping off the defense to the play and hole before the snap. It may have taken opposing defenses a few weeks to get the new plays but now that they have, I strongly suspect the same thing is going on that has in the past. Dallas is telegraphing its plays somehow.

And going with this, does Dallas ever run a counter? Is this explicitly a no-no under Garrett?

Moore hasn't been impressive but given that he seems to be failing in the same way everyone else failed, I suspect the problem is deeper.

Linehan is better than Moore... not even joking. At least he ran Dak and had an identity with Zeke. Moore is waaaay over his head.

Unlike the NFL, which is a meritocracy, Dallas is a perfect example of nepotism.

Let's have Leon Let coach the DL. Does he have a coaching experience? NO, but he played here and we like him
Let's have Columbo coach the OL. Does he have a coaching experience? No, but he played here and we like him
Let's keep Garret. Did he prove himself? No, but he is almost like a family and we are close with him and his family

And so on ...

Nepotism, sentimentality and wishful thinking is our management philosophy.

we have some good coaches.

kmore, kitna, nussmeir, krichard, Colombo, brown.

but...

2 of the 3 coordinators need to go.

Marinelli and KOquinn are going to cost JasonG his job.

Brown, the RB's coach, he sucks he is a huge problem. I been saying for years he needs to go.
Not sold on Moore at all, not yet.

Richard, maybe he his hampered by Marinelli and his out dated scheme.

Kitna needs to stay, probably Colombo and Nussmeir, what has Nussmeir done with the TE's.
Not so sure about Lal, is it him or we just have some pretty goos WR's.

Marinelli, Garrett, O'Quinn, and Lett all need to go.

Everyone got so excited about this kid running the offense after the 1st 3 games that some were calling for him to be the next HC of the Cowboys. We have to face facts, Moore's offense looks good against weak defense's. We have not beaten a team with a record above .500.

Some throw out the "Garrett is messing with the play calling" , does Garrett only mess with the play calling against winning teams? NO.

The offense belongs to Moore and it is just not working.

I don't just blame Moore, the WHOLE coaching staff needs to go.

Can't blame the car when the driver is a dud......but GL with this as it's pretty evident what our problem is every time we face a real team....

I laughed at the first play call last night.

The fullback Olawale (Daryl Johnston) motions out wide right and Cooper (Michael Irvin) runs a slant coming off of that side.

Saw that a hundred times in the early 90s, guaranteed that wasn't a Moore original.

The second I heard that Moore was the next OC, I knew he would be the sacrificial lamb for 2019, the sole scapegoat that would be forced to take the fall for Garrett.

Fast forward to yesterday and Jerry tearfully proclaiming he would not be firing Garrett, and my thought is still the same. There is no way Moore survives Jerry's broke back moment. The kid gave it his best shot, but he was doomed the minute he got the job. It was the perfect excuse strategically put in place by Jerry to save his love child.

I kinda feel bad for Jerry. He made garret. Gave him an OC job when nobody was looking his way. Made him a head coach a few years later without any track record of success. He really believed in this guy and it just hasn't worked out. ...........and now he has to do something that is going to be personally very difficult for him. He knows the end is here and he was wrong. It is hard to start over at Jerry's age and lord knows he's made excuse in the book to avoid it.

Add the following to the list of players that now coach for Dallas:
Gary Brown, Greg Jackson, Andre Gurode (Defensive asst, this guy was a center for pete sake), Carlos Polk (ST), Phillip Tanner (ST).

Not saying former players don't make good coaches, but if you had to promote from within, none of these guys move the excitement meter for coaching change.

Then there's brother Judd, advanced scouting and special projects guy. What exactly is a special project? What flavor of Gatorade has the most impact on hydration? Does carrying the challenge flag in the front pocket allow for more access than the back pocket or sock? Would moving a 300+ lb DT to kicker help with special teams and get an extra tackler on the field?

You hear about coaching trees all the time, he's from the Andy Ried coaching tree or Bill Walsh or Bill Beliceck… This coaching tree is like the Charlie brown Christmas tree.

Kitna, Lal, and maybe Moore. Richard and Columbo need to be on Garrett's heels going out the door!

what’s up with the Colombo hate?
After Williams went out, Hughes who had like 4 sacks coming into this game looked like Haley running all those stunt vs Smith and Suafila, same with strip sack vs Murphy. Like he had never seen it before. And then there was the sack where he was planted on his *** by Oliver. Just frustrated I guess. Find it hard to believe someone who's been in the leage 5 or 6 years could be that bad. Explains why they gave up 50 sacks last year!

I don't like the offense they are running. The passing game is really unimaginative and it seems defenses can readily determine where the ball is going by alignment and personnel. The blocking scheme sux as well.

Again, while the NFL have coaching trees, Dallas have family tree

thanks for bringing that up

This is why Garrett should be 2nd chairing with KM but Jerry told Garrett not to, Jerry even told KM to come to him if Garrett started interfering.

Weird in all of our losses....we lose the time of possession...badly. Yet...your wanting Kellen to do the same job w/ a quarter less time. Got it..

Kellen is the problem....not our defense. Might wanna check today's stats. We had more first downs 32 to Buffalo's 22...and we had the ball 6 less minutes....
10 more possessions and a total of 13 points!

If anything, I think we're too committed to the run - or at least running too predictably.

Dak is much more comfortable passing out of the shotgun than from under center, so when we got under center on first down and load up 3 TEs to one side, the entire universe knows it's going to be a run play, and probably a dive coming over the LG. Moore has been trying to PA off it some, but we probably run that exact same dive play 5 to 10 times a week. That run play is a Garrett/Linehan staple, and I doubt Moore introduced it.

Anyway, defenses are keying in on those runs HARD and putting us in a lot of 2nd and 9s because they know our tendencies. Look how defenses have been lining up against us - it's either 6 bodies right on the LOS, one over every gap, or some teams ran a lot of "triangle" sets (I don't know what the proper name is) where they squeeze 3 LBs in over the DTs - like a 4-3 base with tighter spacing between the LBs. Buffalo was running that a lot yesterday. Those are both obvious inside-run defense formations, and we hand off straight into them like clockwork.

There's times when we should have ran more - NE was putting 2 DLs on the field on some snaps and basically baiting us to run it, and we were still throwing the ball. But overall, I think we are slamming Zeke into too many brick walls, and we've been relying on Dak's superior downfield passing to bail us out of long downs more than some may realize.

The best way to fix it IMO is going back to the outside zone toss play that Zeke originally terrorized the NFL with. That used to be a bread and butter call for us and we've really gone away from it. Could be because of Martin and Frederick's injuries, could be because Zeke has lost some speed, who knows - but the one time we called it yesterday, it worked perfectly for 30 yards.

If defenses want to spread 6 guys across the line like they've been doing - awesome. Let's toss it and see how many guys you've got at the second level. You want to pack your LBs in tight - awesome, let's pitch it outside them and make them run. If you think Zeke lacks the speed to do that, give some reps to Pollard. But you have to threaten the corners to get those obvious run-stuffing sets to back off more.

And if it's like the Minnesota game, where the LBs are out for Zeke's head and he's averaging like 2 YPC - screw it. Let's throw with Dak for 10 YPA.

The problem is that the offense as a whole has to be able to score, and the defense has to stop the opponent from scoring too much, in order to keep the run game as a viable option. Zeke was feeding against GB, and looked to be off to a hot start against Buffalo. If we had given him 25 carries in both games, he would have ripped them up. But the run game was effectively eliminated because we fell behind so quickly.

I think for a rookie coordinator he has been awesome. Better than Linehan for sure. Line play has been poor and drops and timely penalties have been an issue, so I think he’s been slightly better than the record suggests. Even still statistically it seems like his offense works fine. When the team stalls it stalls, he deserves some of the blame but when I see his offense rolling it is really good
