I was a huge Mavs fan for a long time, then I got turned off by Mr. Cuban. (I know him a bit better than John D. Public. Though I must say, deep inside I'm still a Mavs fans I just refuse to watch them now) Anyway, I watched the NBA finals, and deep inside I wanted them to win, I also wanted them to lose for two reason. Cuban and it seemed very Cinderella last year with Avery Johnson. I'm on the ropes this year. We shall see how I feel. Though I still don't want Cuban to have a championship...

I usually root for the underdog, unless said underdog is playing one of my teams.
nyc;1326194 said:Actually, I feel it's not unAmerican (what would be the proper capitalization of that word?!?) at all. America was founded on the premise that a man can build his own sucess through hard work, rather than having his future dictated to him by others. (which is why I've been anti-NBA for quite some time) Cinderella to me means to get something without truly being worthy of receiving it. Winning the lottery is very Cinderella, while as I noted not liking Cuban, I give him 110% credit for where he is now in life, (a self-made billionaire) and with the Mavs being top of the NBA in spite of the NBA front office who obviously doesn't like him.
While I can not like someone, I can still admire what they've done. (Cuban, Trump, Gates, Ellison, etc) There is nothing admirable about being a Cinderella.
