yeah, I'm glad. I was really getting sick of this "New America's Team" crap. I was listening to the Dan Patrick show, and the guy filling in for Dan (I believe Eric) was asking his guest how comes out of these games as the New America's Team.

I won't miss that at all. Now they can go back to being "New Orleans team" again.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter. There will never be another America's Team. The term itself was invented and coined for the Cowboys. This has been tried several times. Favre brought it up once that the Packers should be titled that because they were the only team actually owned by the city/fans. It never went over. As soon as we win our next SB the title will be put back in it's rightful place until then the pretenders can just keep pretending.

I'm so happy the Ain'ts lost. I hate Cinderella and Cinderella teams.

I was a huge Mavs fan for a long time, then I got turned off by Mr. Cuban. (I know him a bit better than John D. Public. Though I must say, deep inside I'm still a Mavs fans I just refuse to watch them now) Anyway, I watched the NBA finals, and deep inside I wanted them to win, I also wanted them to lose for two reason. Cuban and it seemed very Cinderella last year with Avery Johnson. I'm on the ropes this year. We shall see how I feel. Though I still don't want Cuban to have a championship...

I can understand not liking Cuban...he is a love him or hate him kind of guy.

For the record I do not follow the NBA so I have no part in it.

However You not like Cinderella teams? What are you an unamerican pinko commie? ;) :p:

I usually root for the underdog, unless said underdog is playing one of my teams.

I'm just glad the old Americas team lost. I seen enough of the Patriots, and frankly I'm sick of hearing "Americas Team".

Actually, I feel it's not unAmerican (what would be the proper capitalization of that word?!?) at all. America was founded on the premise that a man can build his own sucess through hard work, rather than having his future dictated to him by others. (which is why I've been anti-NBA for quite some time) Cinderella to me means to get something without truly being worthy of receiving it. Winning the lottery is very Cinderella, while as I noted not liking Cuban, I give him 110% credit for where he is now in life, (a self-made billionaire) and with the Mavs being top of the NBA in spite of the NBA front office who obviously doesn't like him.

While I can not like someone, I can still admire what they've done. (Cuban, Trump, Gates, Ellison, etc) There is nothing admirable about being a Cinderella.

I have never taken the term Cinderella like that.

Normally in sports it means a team may OVER achieve but normally not have things handed to them IMO.
