good or bad:D

I haven't seen any rumored moves other than josh cribs which to me would be a waste. Harris was good back there. And cribs suck at wr.

I was kinda expecting there to be lots of rumors as agents tried to get more teams involved. But perhaps agents are even keeping things quite for now.

So far this has been one of the more boring off seasons that I can remember.

what do you expect when you're struggling to get under the cap?

A team full of holes and nothing going on in FA can't be seen as good news, though it is early and this will likely be another off season of late bargain bin shopping.

I've been having fun watching Ravens fans argue that Flacco is an elite top 8 QB after the pay cut rumors about Boldin, but yeah, not much going on. Let's see if tomorrow is interesting.

They will be lucky to afford bargain bin players. This is the reality of the salary cap. Some posters say that salary cap hell does not exist. Having holes and not being able to fix them due to the cap is hell IMO.

Theres no news or rumors because of new rule that warned teams not to be working deals before the start of the new year. So if something gets leaked goodell is going to get involved. We all know there is deals being worked on right now but they just arent being leaked

Not only is the cap extremely tight this year, the cap is going to be even tighter in future years since seemingly the Cowboys have or are going to restructure half of the team's contracts and push more and more guaranteed money into the future.

I read somewhere the Cowboys have $100m of the cap committed through 2015 already. Seems like a crazy, "Go for broke", approach for building for the future.

A combined $123MM for the 21 players under contract for 2015. And that doesn't include the likes of Tony Romo, Sean Lee, Dez Bryant, Tyron Smith, Bruce Carter, Demarco Murray, etc.

It's good to see at least some of us are paying attention to what all these restructures are going to mean in the coming years. Our FO is in a hell-bent win now mode, similar to how Al Davis was after the Raiders lost the SB in 02... he sacrificied their future to keep the band together hoping for one last run. The result? Oakland faced cap hell starting in 2004, and have been trying to dig themselves out of it ever since.

We're not at that point yet, but we're rapidly approaching it.

it's sad and depressing thinking of our future.

it's also sad that steven jones can come out in an interview and proclaim that the salary cap is not an issue and so many of the masses will take it as gospel.

I think it is quickly approaching the point of no return, if it is not there already. We have some two and three win seasons ahead due to poor salary cap management. That dang Stephen. If he wasn't a great cap manager, some of those two and three win years will be one win or winless seasons. We dodged a bullet on that one.

It looks like this team is going to blow up wheather we want it or not.

I think they are trying to time it to Romo's departure. That is when a franchise usually struggles and a lot of cap problems can be erased pretty quickly. We don't have an Aaron Rodgers stashed on the bench, so the transition will be painful either way.
