No OL Run Blocking

I have seen this 2023 OL all year and it is embarrassing to call it a Cowboys' OL. They cannot run block. It is a season long problem. Pollard is not getting any holes. Is our center even 25% as good as TFred? Is Zach on his last legs? Is Steele anything better than a turnstyle? We need road graders and guys who push the defenders backwards. This team is now struggling to score points in three straight games. The skilled position players are fine, but the OL has been piss poor!

Well, it doesn't help that we seem to have a defense that chokes at the end if we get a lead. Also doesn't help that we can't seem to run the clock out one way or another in the go ahead drives. That's going to be a problem in a playoff game, if we don't get blown out by whoever.

i must agree...Hutchinson set career high with 3 sacks against our RT....he needs to get it together...Dak is playing good considering crummy O line

Definitely need to draft a good Tackle and maybe even sign one to upgrade Steele. He's been beyond bad..

The run blocking scheme doesn't look like they put much thought into it and having a weak center is a huge problem against quality front seven teams. I'm worried that Jerry has reverted to his normal self under-valuing the OL. Before Garrett got him to build that OL and running game we had absolute crap blocking for years and years.

What I’ve also noticed about the poor run blocking is the continuing poor play by the tight ends in the running game. Almost every time they are tackled for loss on a run, which is like every second run, lol, the tight end is whiffing on their assignment and they are also getting called for holding when we get positive yardage. Our WR’s are also poor run blockers on wide runs. Our RB’s are getting hit or dodging guys in the backfield. It’s not Pollard’s fault.

The run game is beyond pathetic. Not going to win many game like yesterday's. I don't know if it's the players, scheme, Oline coach, or what......but it needs fixed in the off-season.

I made a thread about Solari and the blocking scheme. I think there are two issues:
- Some notable skill deficiencies. Steele has just got smoked 1 on 1 way too many times this year.
- A generally poor scheme and ability to coach it

I'll focus on the latter. Dallas has that asinine draw play up the middle they run out of the gun. When they do it, they pull 2 offensive linemen from one side into where the hole is supposed to be. The end result? You have 5 linemen trying to jam themselves into one small area, Pollard waiting for them while defenders are left completely unblocked on the opposite side where they frequently just dart in and tackle Pollard for a loss.

After this play fails a dozen or so times, you would think that the coaching staff would notice. . . . . nope. This play seems to be the base staple of the run game.

And yes, this play is being tipped. If the Cowboys are in the gun and the O line pulls, the defenders immediately know what the play is. Dallas has no counter or misdirection that they run off of this regularly. As soon as I see shotgun on 1st and 10, there has to be a 40% chance that the next play is the one I described.

It's bad play calling. Every game/every run it's the same thing...diddle diddle up the middle. MM does nothing to get Pollard in space.

This is a four alarm fire that needs to be addressed. So far first year Offensive line coach Mike Solari has been an abject failure. The offensive line cannot run block and struggle to pass block at least 50% of the time. Reminds me of the Mike Nolan defensive coordinator fiasco. The O-line play is the biggest issue plaguing the Cowboys. The run game is a joke and someone needs to be held accountable. They will undoubtedly flop in the playoffs if it is not corrected.

Let’s not let Jerry get free either. A lot of fans were saying the offensive line could be in trouble without more draft picks and depth.

We all knew it was time for Zeke to go but we also all knew we had to get at least one physical back to support Pollard, especially coming off the injury. Guys like Henry were available until the last second.

If the fans can see it, the GM should’ve too. Dak and CeeDee balling inspite of the run and OL problems.

Talent is glaringly bad at RT. Biadasz is not as good as Gurode or T Fred. Zach is winding down his career. I do not see hm blasting open holes.
