Like Most others I at least somewhat bought into the hiring of Parker. But not because anyone directly related to the Cowboys were saying he was a great catch,....the national media were all saying it. The Rising young star, ect ect,........when the truth is he is in way over his head. The defense looks totally inept out there. VERY vanilla, they play scared. I also do not see much if any aggression or creativity when it comes to defensive play calling. Just very very basic. Poorly coached, plain and simple. What I didn't like about all the new hires is the fact that there were no old head position coaches brought in. The kind of guys that have seen and done it all and can stead the ship when it comes to they're position players. Lemme tell ya,....now more than ever we could have used a few of those,...instead we have NONE. Not good.

Here is the thing when it comes to being an offensive OR defensive playcaller. Its not really about play design or scheme,.....its about TIMING and having a feel for WHEN and WHAT play is called at any given time. Parker is extremely lacking in that department. He simply doesn't have it. I'm not happy with Shotty either but quite frankly he is head and shoulders over Parker when it comes to play calling IN GAME. I mean,....its not even close, Parker is THAT bad.

Nothing under the sun is new. Its not like there are some "secret plays" that only certain teams know.....LOL . Every team in the NFL has all the same plays that anyone else has. The difference is were stuck with DEF Co who has no clue WHEN to call a specific play. He has no feel whatsoever for the flow of the game. Where are the stunts, slants, twists and blitzes? He doesn't have the confidence to call them because he is in way over his head. And I'll tell you something else,....it wont be long before he completely loses his defensive players either, They will tune him right out. THATS what happens. Trust me,...its coming. And heres why.......The truth is our defensive roster has more than enuff good players on it to at least be an average to decent NFL defense and the players KNOW THAT. He is making them look bad and that wont last long before the revolt is on. Were in for a rough ride.

The Cowboys had a former HC running the defense last year. How did that work out?
Not good at all. THAT defensive group had FAR less talent on it than this one though. Not saying I wanted an old veteran defensive playcaller,....Im saying it would have been good to at least have 2 or three older position group coaches instead of the zero we have now.

I despised Flus as a def co. But the fact is our defense is actually WORSE then last seasons defense when we have significantly upgraded the talent level. We spent all off-season making trades, signing free agents and devoting almost an entire draft to upgrade the talent level on defense and we are WORSE. Flus sucked,....he was better than Parker though and that's saying something. Right now there are several NFL defenses that are performing far better than our defense is that cant even come close to the talent level our defense has. WHY is that? Coaching,....no other answer.

I was hot last night watching that abomination, still hot today. Hard to stomach. An embarrassment, a disgrace, and a humiliation all rolled into one. Oh, better yet we have nobody to turn to even if Parker by some miracle were fired. I wouldn't turn to Sorenson that's for sure. If it were up to me I'd turn to Scott Symons. At least he has shown the ability to call an effective defensive game as a college coach. Other than him,...we have no one capable.

Remember when our fawning media spent a week or two last offseason worrying about who would coach this defense when Parker inevitably got a head coaching job next year? Lol.
Yeah I know. The thought of that is actually ridiculous now. :p I think Parkers lane is more drawing up coverages,....I see him more as a little Poindexter guy that does best sitting in a room and studying film. Those guys are valuable and NEEDED. But to actually CALL a defense? No way. He has no feel for the ebb and flow,...none. This is why his games plans are as bland as you can get. I mean,...this guys making Fluss look AGGRESSIVE ! Think about that,....yeah,...things are bad,...REAL bad. Like I said,...wont be long and the PLAYERS will get rid of him by tuning him out. He wont be fired mid season,...but he is one and done.

ALL in for Jim Schultz next year. Wish he were younger, but he's not. He wont be passive that's for sure,.....and he actually knows how to call an NFL defense. If he would have been our D co this season from the get go I would almost bet we would be 4-1 and this point and ,maybe even 5-0. For real. He,s that much better than this INTERN we hired instead.

Anyway,...done complaining now. Been a Die hard fan of this team since 75,...always will be. Fact is Im just plain sick of the foolishness. Hire an INTERN to run a defense for a high profile NFL team? Are you kidding me..

Yep. I think more what's between the ears should be taken into account when evaluating defensive players.

Football IQ IS a big part of a player's skill set along with his physical traits.
Exactly. How many times it take to understand you need to account for the RB in the flat? We see it over and over.

Lastly,...I think a lot of good loyal fans learned a hard lesson this time the way they fawned like school girls over CP. The love he was getting was way over the top and totally underserved. Can you imagine how those fans feel NOW? Pretty foolish I suspect. This is akin to thinking you're wife bought you a new car for Christmas and opening the box expecting to see a set of new car keys and instead finding nothing but a 10 dollar Mcdonalds gift certificate. MERRY CHRISTMAS BABY,...enjoy your burger! Actually its even worse then that because before Christmas you went and bragged to all you're friends that you're wife was getting you a NEW CAR. Yes,........the shame and embarrassment is quite high. LOL

True, but we changed out a huge percentage of the players from last year and there's no improvement. It's crazy.

Which is exactly why yesterdays 3rd and 21 fiasco was no shock to me. In fact I absolutely expected it. This is how bad it is on defense for us now. We cant even stop 3rd and 21's. Way too dumb and our opponents know it.

This, most teams in that situation just give in and do a run play or dump pass to the back and get ready to punt, but against this infallible D, those same plays will net you 21 yards or more for the first down. Unfreaking believable.
