our STs unit look really scary too. We have some guys that are already demon on STs, but the depth and potential is nice.
1. Keith Davis
2. Patrick Crayton
3. Tyson Thompson
4. Skyler Green
5. Rocky Boiman
6. Kevin Burnett
7. Ryan Fowler
8. Justin Berry-o
9. Jock Reeves
10. Pat Watkins
11. Jason Hatcher (KO and FG unit)
12. Brett Pierce
13. Nate Jones
14. Bobby Carpenter
15. Gurode ( See Hatcher)
16. Anthony Fasano
17. Terrance Copper
18. Pepper Johnson (See Hatcher)
19. Columbo (See Hatcher)

Thats almost 20 players that have or should excel on STs. Nice problem to have when your core players aren't forced to play STs.

Parcells has always been a big fan of STs and has been very disappointed in our coverage and return units since he has been here. We should have the guys this season though to have some excellent STs.

Signing Vandy was huge.

Good special teams as well as having an elite kicker will be the difference in a very tight division race.

Vandy and our special teams unit takes this team from a 9-10 win season, to a team that will win 10-12 IMHO.

Yeah, Vandy was hands down the biggest STs signing. I'm just hopeful we don't have to see Sproles running down hte field on every kickoff this year. Our coverage units should really cover some ground and hit this year.

I've been very disappointed with our ST units since BP arrived also. Of course I put it at the doorstep of Bruce DeHaven. But everyone else seems to blame the alignment of the stars or something because DeHaven has a lot of (inexplicable) support on this board.

This is potentially the best ST since 93 (Gant, Bates, Patterson, Edwards, Myles, K Williams and Woody)

Exactly!

but let's keep in mind that many of these guys have tenuous spots on the final roster

I'd say these 7 are fighting to make the team at all -- some more than others but all could be cut without it being a big shocker.

3. Tyson Thompson
7. Ryan Fowler
8. Justin Berry-o
12. Brett Pierce
13. Nate Jones
17. Terrance Copper
19. Columbo (See Hatcher)

Plus this guy isn't going to do much on ST as he's slated to get a ton of offensive snaps. However, you left Hannam off the list -- he's a good ST contributor.

16. Anthony Fasano

Didnt even mention Willie Pile, He flys to the returner on Kickoffs.

Pile will be lucky to make it out of TC.

I don't see him making the team.

Sorry but Bates had moxie...:laugh2:

STs really need 4 good players (not including Kickers, long snappers, or Punters)

The Returner, the two gunners, and the wedge leader.

Everything else always seems to be a toss up.

i think, the vadergagt, signing was the biggest in the offseason, even over the T.O signing. he should really help us in close games, this year

That is a good looking group of players to pick from, however, they may not look as good on the field.

Let's see them play first before annointing them the best of anything.

Year in and year out, we've stressed ST's ... but they've always fallen short.

Let them get on the field first. Then we'll see.

having guys that can block kicks helps too.

Returner - TTHompson, will wait and see on Green.

Two Gunners - Copper and Reeves, think BP mentioned Jones as very good at this also. Will wait and see about Watkins, but that was his specialty at FSU.

Wedge leader - Fowler

Guys that flew to the ball last season - Davis, Boiman, Fowler, Hannam, Copper, Reeves, Jones, Pierce and Pile.

Why don't we snag a few 7 foot basketball players and just line them up to block kicks???
