No pro-bowl for Nick Folk . . .

Kicking is more than field goals. Folk has no...repeat no touchbacks since kick-offs are part of the game and essential to field position he gets a big F for that ability.

That is why he does not go to the Pro-Bowl.

Yeah, thats not exactly the most flattering stat.

And Folk has been good for the team but there are a lot of Kickers out there who have hit more FGs. Yes, I realize you can only make as many as you are given the opportunity to. Doesn't matter.

Realistically there are like 5 or 6 guys who should go before Folk.

I had forgotten about Folk (in terms of the Pro Bowl).

Yeah, there are probably others even more deserving. But I've gotta say, it has been a very long time since I've felt as much confidence in a Cowboys kicker.

Because Carney for the Giants has been kicking out of his mind. Something like 27-29, the only reason he missed, was because 2 were blocked. He also has 4 TB's, Folk has none.

Olindo Mare is having a pretty good year as well.

Think he has only missed 1 or 2 and he has like 20 touchbacks.

I was looking at some other kickers stats and I hadn't ever noticed that Carolina has a kick off specialist with 24 TBs on the season. Every 3rd kick is a TB.

Thats pretty awesome for them. I know you would have to use a spot for a guy like that but hell I'd take a TB every game.

His KOs on average land at the 2-3 yard line and with a return average of 22, when teams do get a chance to take a KO, they usually start at the 25.

Folk usually hits the 10 and with an identical return average, opponents of Dallas usually start at the 32-33.

When you factor in that guys TBs as average starting position, the other teams usually starts at the 23. Just about 10 yards difference and with 5 kicks per game, were looking at half the field this guy adding on.

Using a roster spot on a KO specialists isn't the ideal thing to do but when you can get that kind of production from the guy, its almost foolish not to. There is always a player on the team who pretty much stands around all game on the sidelines anyway.

Hell, I'd shuttle Carpenter out in a heartbeat if you could get me a leg that would add tilt field position 50 yards in my favor.
