Although Romo was blamed for the Cowboys’ 2006 playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks—he dropped the snap on a potentially game-winning field goal attempt—he returned to lead the team to a 12–1 start in 2007, the best in franchise history. The Cowboys went on to win their first National Football Conference (NFC) East Division title in nine years, and Romo finished the regular season with 36 touchdowns and 4,211 passing yards.
I was a big fan of Romo. But the game is much different than when Aikman played. Romo showed up just in time to take advantage of the QB helmet to helmet rule. Then later no landing on top of QB's and no hitting them below the knees. If Aikman played under the same rules as Romo his stats most likely would have been much better. I sincerely do not believe you can apply QB stats after 2002 to anything prior to 2002. Not a valid comparison. Not to mention the receiver rule changes beginning in 2007. All changed made to protect the QB and to increase passing TD's.

Let's do 100 more threads about, Dak. When the whole house is burning down. Dak...Dak.. Dak... we get it. The whole team is a Dak. The whole org is a Dak. Mahomes record would be the same if he played for Dallas. Mahomes may of won last night but that would of been it...
Actually, Mahomes probably wins this game and many others if he plays for us. Dak is trash and has wasted 9 seasons.. in at least 4 of those seasons.. our squad was good enough for a SB tilt.. make absolutely NO doubt about it. We had enough pieces to seriously challenge.. but we hitched our wagon to this dud of a QB and the rest tells the story. The moment we paid him more than rookie wages.. the scales were tilted against us.

I get your point... there are multiple bad parts of our game right now.. it isn't all Dak but as mentioned plenty of times before.. you simply can't ignore the 60M pay cheque when considering impact. You can't go and blame a 3rd string defence when your 1st string, over paid and over hyped offence is up there putting up ducks. In the end.. the defence DID give our 'main man' a shot.. they GOT the stop. Very very simple equation.. Dak needs to drive for a TD to win with 3 minutes on the clock.. it isn't just that he failed to get the TD.. it is that he failed to even move the chains..

This dude has always just piled on junk time stats... anyone with an IQ could see that he has no ability to win the big moments. Mental Midget is apt.

It's more about the indelible link between: Jerry, his inability to run the organization, inability to evaluate talent (in favor of star names), his inability to negotiate contracts, inability to trade.......Dak is just the epitome of what's wrong with the franchise. A player that wants the money, but cant play up to the contract.

There may not have ever been a QB who thrives on garbage time the way Dak Prescott does.

Last night in the first 3 quarters he goes 16-23 for 116 yards, 0 TDs, and 2 INTs to help put the Cowboys down 17.

Then when the game is basically out of reach he goes 9-11 for 127 yards and 2 TDs.

Then the defense gets a 3 and out and suddenly the Cowboys have the ball back with a chance to win with 3 minutes left and he goes 0-4

What’s crazy is Dak is maybe the best QB I have ever seen against soft zone shell coverage. It’s uncanny. He can shred defenses when the secondaries start playing way soft and allow the receivers nice easy free releases. I’m not certain as to why defenses continually try that strategy when it works so terribly against Dak. It does not waste enough time. The last Dallas TD took 0:53 (4 plays for 70 yards).

Go look at Washington to see what a difference a dynamic QB can make. Basically same team as last year. Last year they were garbage.....then presto you put a playmaker in at QB, and all of a sudden NOBODY wants to play them.

Putting Mahomes on this team would be even a greater effect. We'd be undefeated right now with Mahomes.

Dak sucks eggs.

You know who else loves GarbagevTime?

CeeDee Lamb.

We all saw him smiling on the sidelines. Why? He knew they weren't going to win...but he knew Garbage Time means easy yards for him. He got the stats at the end of the game, and the stats don't have an asterisk next to them, and are the same whether they are in the 1st half when it matters, or against prevent defense where the other team is letting you have it.

CeeDee was as happy as a clam scarring up SanFran's charity yards, like a bum on the street getting thrown a few dollar bills

Ive been saying this since Garrett was here. His stans claimed it didnt count as garbage time because the game was still within reach
From memory the only game the Cowboys won from a hopeless position with Prescott was the Falcons game when they botched an onside kick to chuck the game. Aside from that there are countless garbage time stats to his name.
