No Romo Critics today?

Criticism is one thing but some of the comments on Romo have gone well beyond that. Yes you play bad nothing wrong at all about commenting on the reasons but to knock him as nothing more than a backup after 1 bad game and claim he needs to be replaced by some #1 draft choice? Give me a break. That is just stupid by some who are more concerned about being right or that their guy did not make it while Romo has.

Um, who are these people/critics? There must be less than 10 of them. Romo has practically been elevated to sainthood in these parts. I'm the board Scrooge, and even I haven't typed a discouraging word about him. Roy Williams has been torched much worse, and he deserves it. If Romo was criticized after the Saints game, he deserved to be. If he was showered with love after the Atlanta game, he deserved to be. Not that complicated.

Thing is that is how certain member of this board have been. They make no comments on Romo at all while he is playing very good ball, then he has a bad outing against the saints and rip into him. Being a critic is one thing but the one-sidedness that some have shown reeks
Unfortunately this happens with a ton of players. I will admit when Roy has a horrible game, I will blast into him, and then when he has a good game, I will praise him.

The thing that is always consistant with me is, I will criticize a specific issue with a person. When I criticized Romo, the only thing I said was that he needed to work on his fade routes and not allow them to go out of bounds unless he's throwing the ball away. He corrected it very quickly, and this time he had a fade go out of bounds, but then he had a nice fade to Glenn on the money.

Read above your post and you will see a few. Hey I have nothing against someone who stand up and says Romo messed up or played poorly and this is why I think he did. But there are some who would not say a thing until Romo had his bad game then it was like sharks feeding. Now I don't think he has elevated himself to the same status of the great QB's as of yet and the only way that happens is when you do it over the course of time. I am thrilled by what he has done up to this point.

Romo has a bad outing last week and Romo critics come out of the wood work in full force, today nothing. I guess when you hit 75.9 percent of your passes for 2 TD's and 113.9 QB rating on the game there is not much that can be said. :lmao2:
Ironic isn't it?

I do the same but as you said you give praise when they do a good job and comment on things they need to improve on. What I'm talking about is guys trashing Romo because they have a bug up their backside because the guy they were pulling for did not make it and Romo thus far has.

Three people is hardly a groundswell. My "under 10 people" prediction is looking pretty good. Fans have a right to be "wary" or "cautious" of Romo considering his pedigree, but I don't detect a "I hope he fails" vibe out there. No one wants to revisit the Bled/Vinny days.

I did not say anything about a groundswell most Cowboy fans have loved what they have seen out of Romo as for Pedigree it means nothing. What you do once you get your chance does and thus far Romo has outplayed many of these top #1 QB who have been in the league longer than he has. I don't know what your under 10 prediction was so I will not comment on that.

he had a good game...it was good to see him follow up a poor effort with a better one

it wasnt perfect, but it was highly effective and he made a couple of really great throws

The point is that threads like this can "chill" legitimate criticism when it's warranted. You know how easily people drop the term "hater" around here? Any criticism is considered heretical to some.

Romo leads the NFL in non-YAC yards. Not opinion, just fact. That's legit, isn't it?

I have been pretty consistent on Romo... I didnt know what we had before he started games for us... but having now seen him... at the very least, the very least.... HE gives us a chance.

I can honestly say that I cant see that I will ever bash this guy. He has breathed life into this dead organization.

Its a well known fact that after 5 games defensive coordinators have enough film to figure out a QB, but after 7 games they forget again. Then about after 9 or 10 weeks, they remember again, but then forget again after Week 12, but then once you get to the Week 15 point then they REALLY figure them out.

I know that's what I've heard.

Well, I pointed out how Romo wasn't all that bad against the Giants (i.e. 5 drops, one of which bounced off Glenn and wound up being an INT) and was better against the Saints than it appeared. If the offensive personnel around him is playing decent, he's a darn good QB.

Well some fans just like having something to bellyache about. If it's one of those things that happens from time to time, their criticism falls in line with that.

Like the people who always bellyache about Zimmer letting a team tie or win at the end. Obviously they took a week off too because we shut the opponent out in the 4th quarter this week.

Things are just a lot easier when somebody sucks each and every week and everyone agrees on it. ;)

I'm confused. #9 is playing well. He has landed the 'Boys in the postseason. He has rejuvenated hope in a division title and beyond. I say that's a pretty good 8 weeks of football, considering he took over at 3-3.

Is he the next Montana? I have no idea. I see enough empirical evidence that says to me- if surrounded with good talent, he is talented enough to lead a team on lots of scoring drives. And he shows "clutch" ness we have lacked at the QB position for YEARS.

I'm not interested in a QB that can drive a "Ford". We had how many years of Fords under Campo and Gailey and Parcells. We have managed our cap well and we are reaping some rewards for doing so by bringing in good talent.

Why criticize Romo for that? If we wanted JP Losman we could have drafted him instead of dealing the pick for Spears the following year. Let him drive the Ford. We're the Cowboys.... not the Cardinals or Lions.

Bottom line- Romo is playing good football, and shows resiliency and grit when things don't go perfectly to plan all the time.

Barring a complete 180 degree turnaround in his own makeup, talent, preparation or severe head trauma- He is our QB for the next 5-10 years.

Romo is the man. Sure. He's going to be just like any other QB in the league. He'll have some bad games here & there but the reward vs risk is so so worth it. :starspin

Munchis got to come back for one week :lmao2::lmao::lmao2::lmao::lmao2::lmao::lmao2::lmao:

Poor little troll

My question for critics like Munchis is when watching Saturday's game is he getting any enjoyment out of it when Romo is playing good. Wonder if he can even enjoy the win since they seem to be pulling for Romo to fail? It would be a shame that we haveen't had this hope since 96 really, and some Cowboys fans can't seem to enjoy it.
