Is anyone besides me impressed with our 2005 Draft picks and rookies attitude? Spears intimated in interviews on NFL Netword and Jim Rome that the 2nd years all agreed that the biggest difference in the NFL was strenght and made a "pact" to get stronger.

It sure seems like some of them have embraced that goal.

Spears is up in weight, but leaner, stronger, and reportedly faster.

Mickey and Parchy have both reported how much bigger and faster Ware looks. How can he be faster? My gosh. One report said he was one of several who were cleaning 400 pounds in workouts.

I believe I heard Canty was also really cut and adding strength.

Petitti also is stronger and leaner and cleaning 400 pounds.

Beriault is supposedly bigger and stronger and anxious to put 2005's injury behind him.

When you add in the workout ethics of Carpenter and TO it looks like this team is focused already.

Man it's starting to feel good. Come on June take the brakes off and let July get here. We need some football.

I'd have higher expectations than I do but I'm constantly reminded of who our D coordinator still is...and how stifling he is to talent

I agree ,
I probably say this every year at this time but I can not remember being this excited for the season to begin in quite a long time...
My favorite part of football is great defense and I am hopefull that we could have a great D taking shape..

Great defensive players can make an average coordinator look pretty good...

Plus now he is learning from one of the best defensive minds of our time..

I think this defense can be great for years to come. I am really interested to see Canty. Remember the eye thing last year kept him from lifting weights. This year he should be much stronger.

The key to the 2006 edition of the Cowboys will be the O-line and Julius Jones, he has to become the "it" player for this team to excel to the top of the NFC and possibly NFL.

True.. but why should we settle for just being good when we should have a great defense due to the talent we're putting on the field?

It does seem we are working hard or we fans are getting inflated player reports!

good coaches put a lot of emphasis on training. Jimmy Johnson use to the same thing. I can't recall the strength and conditioning coach during his regime, but he had the right to chase players and call them in and Jimmy had given him a lot of control. If players missed workouts he would get the report and they would be in the dog house. Jimmy believed well conditioned athletes would play late in the game and late in the season.

Its the same philosophy with BP. stronger players tend to get hurt less and play better late in the season. he puts a lot of emphasis on it and takes it seriously and that's why he ran into issues with LA. not that LA didn't like working out, but he was just doing one thing instead of all around.
