Let's all just hope that it stays "fine". I wouldn't want to see a repeat of 2016.

I wouldn't want to rush into back surgery either if there's a possibility that rest will do the trick.

If he has a chance to avoid back surgery, it's for the best. That's the one part of the body surgery doesn't always give best results especially in football. He's young he should be fine

Surgery should always be a last resort. There are a lot of cases where an athlete will lose some flexibility and mobility with a back surgery. It is always smarter to work through rehab and alternative medical plans then just jump on the table to get cut open.
Of course it should. That's not what the last exchange was about.

The science of nerves and repair, are far from a sure science...in dealing with the spine.

and I am just saying the reason it always seems like they have to get a surgery closer to the season is the cowboys want to exhaust all other options before putting them under the knife.

No sense wasting a perfectly good off season for a surgery when we can wait until right before the season starts to make that decision.
Lol, I was excited when I read the title, then you hit the nail on the head. That does seem like it's becoming a habit around here.

I liked and agreed with the initial post but rethought it after the specific injury being the back. But the other type of injuries (knee/ankles/esp arm related, etc.) I agree. Though they could be exhausting other options, there are stories that make you twist your neck considering the timing.

Right bf TC, X amount of players are out for scopes, surgeries they acknowledge they my have even needed, etc. Hard to trust the training staff/JJ's prognosis' considering what we have seen in the past w the extensions of injury length's seeming to be inevitable.

Oh...is that what you call it?! Ok brah. So when I am under the impression that our team is once again mismanaging (or misinforming) a player's injury situation I will just chalk it up to good ole prudence and leave it at that.

You avoid a back surgery if you can.
I'll make a note of that. Rules to live by. Lol.

C'mon Risen!?! My man! You know that I wasn't talking about rushing Smith or anyone else under the knife!?! Lol.

I'm talking about the pattern of our team bungling injury situations over the years. The whole yo-yoing thing. Saying a dude has had a season ender and then talking about him being day2day. That sort of BS.

I'm sure you've been critical of that tendency as well. The post I was reacting to was in that spirit.

Yea basically, you have no medical insight on a player's situation. Unfortunately football is a brutal sport for healthy people, it's definitely not very forgiving to aomeone nursing an Injury.
