First I'd like to begin by saying that I believe Wade Phillips is a nice man,a good man-which in the big picture is more important than being a good coach. However, this site is not here to have fans debate who the good samaritans are.We are here because we have a passion for football and a particular football team.Wade Phillips paralyzes the chances of this team winning-point blank. If we had Tom Brady instead of Tony Romo,it might be different. There has to be a leader SOMEWHERE.
Looking back on our great 90s teams,I compare the current Phillips' regime to the Barry Switzer era.A "players coach" who was looked at as a buffoon by many publicly, but loved by his team. One big difference:the QB position. For those who can remember,Troy Aikman did not like Switzers' culture and lack of attention to detail. And he made it known.Even as a normally soft-spoken leader that Aikman was,he felt the team wasn't being pushed hard enough and he said so.It was more important for Aikman to contend than worry about the ramifications of his words. He knew SOMEBODY had to say SOMETHING.
With the current structure in place,we have no leader,no backbone,no voice,no accountability. We have people who hope we get things fixed, but have no plan as to how to fix things.Tony Romo should be at the practice facility early every morning with Jason Garrett and the rest of the skill guys until.Yes,until.It's obvious we aren't prepared enough in game situations. So,if you're lacking in preparation, what is the only cure? You guessed itRACTICE.And it's not until Wade says you can go home. It's until.
And until we get a new head coach,we will never maximize our obvious ability and potential to be a contending football team.
