No threat at punt or ko returns?

BP gotta find someone in that roster who can light it up.i mean patrick crayton is obviously just going thru the motions.im just happy to see no fumbles,but forget about a game changing big play.

Crayton looks terrible as a returner.

Thompson has looked pretty decent on KO's though. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he breaks one or 2 this season as he gets more experience.

ST field position is critical. An average of 5 or 10 yards each over the course of 7 or 8 kicks a game offensively and defensively makes a huge difference. It a grind you down stat that gets overlooked. We need better coverage AND better returners, it would have changed both losses into easy wins.

Price has a few Punt returns in his past, most of them in his third season in Buffalo. He avereaged around 6 yards per return.

Agreed. Newman was one of the better returners in college. Geez, it was one reason we took him over Trufant. I understand not wanting to get Newman hurt, but not having a good returning it hurting the team's field position anyway. Newman should be there on every punt return where there's room for some type of return. I'd be up to trying Price there too though.

Personally, I have not seen many good return situations provided by the PR team. Either the ball coming down inside the ten where you should let it go into the end zone, or a returner surrounded by enemy jerseys. At least Crayton doesn't generally let the ball roll for 20 more lost yards.
