No Urban Meyer

I believe we need to get put recycled coaches trough.

I wanted Urban a few years back.

looks like he ny go to Jacksonville where I’m sure he’ll get full reign.
initially I was against signing Meyer. I thought we had some talent on the team and were ready and would take meyer a few years to adjust to NFL. hindsight 2020 (haha), I wish we would have chased him.

Not a bad way to start your NFL coaching career, getting your franchise QB off the bat. I am sure that gives Jax tremendous leverage for Meyer, as well of course as giving him full control of personnel.
He won’t get full control the owner already had his Jerry moment and said he was going to be involved and have final say
That’s why I don’t think Meyer will go there

Was my choice.

One of the best offensive minds with elite QB development talent regardless of QB skillset. Builds outstanding staffs and surrounds himself with excellent coordinators/position coaches.

Disciplinarian and Alfa Male who would have had a Parcells/Johnson authoritarian role. Does not need money or an improved legacy and would not have allowed meddling. Ultimately would have probably turned the job down because of knowing his own personality and Jerry's would not mix.

Health was and may still be an issue though.

Jerry do this please!

Can his brain anomaly withstand the rigors of coaching in the nfl???

Schwartz and Meyer have health problems and I've seen there names thrown around a couple times on this board. They need to retire and live happily away from the stress of the game.

From what I read, there is nothing they can do about it either. College football can get very loud, but there are points in the NFL it gets to low earthquake levels.

if he goes to jax he’s going to draft fields. he’s the type of QB to run his system. lawrence is more of the typical drop back distributor of the football. yes he can RPO and is athletic but he’s not fields athletic. think of all the qb meyer has had all the way back to tebow

Maybe or maybe not.
Although Meyer may have trained more athletic dual threat QBs over his career than prototypical drop back passers, he is equally as skilled at adapting a system to meet their skills as he did with guys like Cardale Jones and Haskins.

So he's not limited to just the dual threat guys. That and Lawrence did kinda add a little more mobility to his game this year as well cuz he had 8 rushing tds. A couple of long ones even.
