No wide receivers in the 2008 draft are better...

If he can stay healthy, Royal will have a very nice rookie season. After Monday, teams now know who he is and will start gameplanning for him. However, they cannot commit totally to him, as Marshall will eat them alive on the other side. Royal is definitely a nice complimentary receiver to Marshall. I see Cutler and Denver having a potent offense for the remainder of the year.

IDK a lot of those stuff he was getting would go to Marshall so we will have to see.

Rice / Taylor
Clayton / Duper
Moore / Perriman / Morton
TO / Witten
Harrison / Wayne
Moss / Welker

here is solid evidence that two guys or more can carry a receiving load for an offense and both thrive.

He is going to get pushed down to #3 when Marshall come backs. Yeah he looked nice but lets be realistic a lot of that stuff would have went to marshall.

Haha Hank Basket and Greg lewis also looked like all stars against the Rams. Hell Kevin Curtis had a game like that last year and was basically non existence before and after that game

In fact getting hyped over 1 game by 2 wr's playing against what will be 2 teams fighting for another top 5 pick is laughable

Hell remember Kevin Williams for Dallas he had a game or two where he looked like a real deal and did nothing for most his career

1 game does not make a career

thanks for the wisdom...but Jackson has been looking real good all pre season as well....

Noone saw Eddie Royal being this good before the draft. If they did, he would have been drafted in the 1st round. When Denver took him, they thought they were getting a return man who may be able to develop into a decent WR. They basically said as much. He has been better than expected but that happens every year with a handful of guys. Look at Scandrick. How many fans of teams that need CB help should be upset that their team didn't draft him in the 3rd or 4th round? Royal is very good and sure I'd love to have him as a Cowboy but his numbers are going to take a big hit once Marshall comes back and 4 weeks from now he will be just another rookie wr with potential. I still don't think he beats out a healthy Hurd or Austin on the depth chart this year.

come on man do we really need common sense in this thread???

:laugh2:

Man, people are a beating. The draft is a gamble and sometimes you take a chance and hit the big one. (Joe Montana or Tom Brady anybody) These guys weren't 1st rounders, then other people gamble and get players like KiJana Carter. Nobody drafted Romo and look at where he is today.

Besides, it's one freaking game! Who says he will produce that way all season? Don't tell me you honestly believe DeSean Jackson is going to be a ProBowler this year. I mean, he played well last weekend, but it was against the Rams! Royal (who is far better than Jackson) played against the Raiders whom isn't the defensive juggernaut it has been in the past.

We didn't exactly NEED a WR in the draft. We just wanted one. Personally, I think Bennett (our second round pick) has just as good if not better chance of becoming a pro bowler as Royal (Bronco's second round pick) and we got Mike Jenkins and Felix Jones to boot.

WOW! When's Royal's and Jackson's induction ceremony for the HOF?! These guys have ONE good game and now they're on TO's or Randy's level? I'm willing to wager that these guys will come back to Earth in another week or two and someone will be on here thanking their lucky stars JJ didn't reach to draft one!

Actually, if you watched the combine, it was very clear that Eddie Royal was the best wideout there. I thought it was obvious anyway.

Nothing like spin just one week into the season.

The idea that 'High & Tight' was a better option than going WR like Royal or Jackson is nonsense.

It was a mistake...First step in things like this is simply admission of the error...Let's move on now

I thought DeSean would be a bust in this league. After a few preseason games and one regular season game, I will admit I couldn't have been more wrong.

DeSean will be a very good player in this league.

If there is one saving grace however, at least we can still laugh at the rubbish wideouts the Skins drafted.

Its still way to early to say if your going to be wrong or not.

Although Desean Jackson was a beast in Highschool, College, and off to a great start in the Pro's.

He needs about 7 months of intense weight lifting to enter his life as well.

We'll see about that in time. He has to prove to me he can stay healthy first. One good shot and he could be in trouble.

Royal looked mighty impressive to me on Monday. He created his opportunities and cashed in on them. I'm sold.

Jackson, while showing potential, seemed to be in the right place at the right time and took good advantage. For me ... jury is still out on Jackson.

I didn't really watch Royal in that preseason game but he looked like the real deal in his first regular season game, albeit against the lowly Raiders...Guy just gets into space and gets open...Really like his game

Although I believe he's an immature chucklehead right now, the best receiver in the 2008 draft will turn out to be Martellus Bennett. Dude is so talented, he can do it all. He will have one of the best RAC averages in the league, he's almost as strong, and blocks like a OG, and he has some of the best hands in the NFL.

So, while I would like to see him grow up a little faster, I'll take Martellus any day over either of those receivers mentioned in the beginning.

agreed.
there was no doubt in my mind.
And I said it then.

as for the guy who said he'll be a #3 when Marshall returns, that's incorrect. He'll be the #2.
and those who think it was "just one game" are still showing their inability to recognize talent... much like many of the scouts being paid out there.

You know, there were 32 teams that didn't see Marques Colston being a 1-6 round pick. The Saints took him in the 7th and he is awesome. Don't get hung up on getting a guy in the 1st or 2nd round to be the next guy. Give Hurd and Austin a chance. I think Miles is on his way.

What really gets me about the "what if" crowd is that they forget a few things... we DON'T need another receiver (as Sunday revealed) and think of how many fans of other teams are saying, "Did you see Felix Jones? Man, why didn't we draft him?"

The grass is always greener...
