He's a big dude. Almost looks like a TE on TV

Some liked the size of the Cardinals receivers.
Brown is 6'2 225. When he can polish his game some more, like all rookies, think we may be hearing his name more often.

He is the reason Dez will be gone in 2 years

I think Dez has 3 years left on his contract. Not sure though. I think he finishes it out whatever it is. But could be why Butler only got a 1 year deal too.
Dez needs to step it up though, so won't disagree at this point.
I do think they need to draft a WR with speed next year, in the 1st or 2nd round, depending other needs of course.

Noah Brown has some good size. I like this receiving corps that Dallas has built.

Dez
Twill
Butler
Bease
Switzer
Brown

There is some solid talent right there. Dez has had a rough start to the season, but the offense as a whole has as well. Playing 3 straight defense who are top 5-10 will make a lot of top flight receivers look pedestrian. We need other players to step it up so they will stop bracketing Dez. He still has wheels, and he's strong as a damn bull. He's matured and seems to be the ultimate team guy and not a me guy. Is he maybe a little over paid for some of the production so far? Sure, but he also balled in that playoff game.. anyways it's not my money and it's not like Dallas can't afford him. I also think he's one of those players Dallas will NOT just let go, he will probably end up being a Cowboh for life. He bleeds blue and silver, and we know JJ is very fond of him. He's going to go on a tear here.

2 left. Need to look for a replacement for sure.

I think he's gonna be a good one. I like what I see.

I just hope that they start doing more with him. Now it's practically a tip off to the defense that he's in there to block for a running play. Just like they were doing with Vince Mayle before him.

One can't help but wonder. Big contracts on the horizon for Martin, possibly Lawrence, and then Dak. And Dez is being paid top dollar. Not trying to run him out of town, but it stood out to me that they didn't rework his contract, even when they needed the money.

I think they hesistate to rework any contracts besides players that they trust can stay healthy long term so they can add more years, if possible, to lessen the future cap ramifications(See Witten).

Our cap shape is fantastic the next couple seasons until we have to pay a QB. Dez’s story is yet to be told though..he needs to increase his production to cement his spot on this roster for the foreseeable future.

I know he is very raw, but it's amazing that someone with Brown's physical gifts fell to the 7th round.

What about Romo and Lee then? It's more than "health". It's guys they expect to be here long term. Like the offensive linemen.

And that changes quickly. Martin will set the market for the guard position, and if they keep Lawrence, he'll cost a huge amount too. That room is gone as quickly as you get it. And then Dak's huge deal is on ethe horizon.

They did not want to rework Romo’s deal that last time. They only did it because they had to do it to make a room for Hardy(I believe it was him, I remember having free agency visits before we reworked his deal).

As far as Lee? Dez’s cap hit the next two seasons is already north of 16 million so why increase it unless we absolutely have to? Dez’s contract was not as team friendly as other contracts we handed out.

As far as our cap situation, we only have 28 players on contract through the 2019 season and 14 of those players are players we just drafted in the last two seasons. Right now, we are projected to have almost 70 million in space...if we continue to draft well and have such a high concentration of our players on rookie deals, our cap space should more than compensate a few increased salaries.

My point is...we won’t cut Dez during his contract unless his play warrants it. I see no reason to why we wouldn’t be able to compensate his contract unless we have an unpredictable free agency splurge.

More than any other position, there seems to be a never-ending stream of talented college WRs that fill the bottom of NFL rosters (WR4, WR5, WR6, and the practice squad).

I think it's one of the hardest positions for somewhat casual fans to evaluate -- slight variances in route running, suddenness/sharpness out of breaks, the ability to defeat press coverage make all the different in the world determining whether a WR can ever be a WR1/WR2/WR3 type.

They reworked all of their other big money deals. Tyron, Frederick, and Lee. They intentionally left Bryant's alone. That wasn't by accident.

And Martin's deal will be north of $12 million a year, Lawrence would cost almost $18 million to tag, with a deal north of Stafford's $27 million a year for Prescott after next season. To say nothing of the rise of Smith's and Frederick's reworked deals.

That money is gone as soon as they get it.

My point is that he's not performing up to his salary now. And they've kept the option for themselves to be able to get out of the deal if they choose to, or need to. And when players don't live up to contracts, they don't keep them very long.
