So, did he cement his place on the roster last night with that move the sticks catch in traffic? You know he is someone's pet cat on the staff and if they can find an excuse to keep him, they will.
 
I think so, not necessarily because of that single play but the whole situation. This team will either keep 5 or 6 WR’s, the last guy on the depth chart has gotta be able to play ST’s. As of right now the only proven ST players at WR are Brown and Turner, the latter of which has shown up as a WR as well. So the breakdown is as follows:

Guys who can play specials (as of right now): Brown, Turner

Rookie Draft Picks (draft picks have an advantage over UDFA’s): Fehoko

UDFA Rookies: Mitchell, Vasher, Smith, Eagles

Vet/2nd year camp guys: Parker, Davis, Dixon

Let’s start with the lowest on the totem pole, the Vet/2nd year guys. I’ve heard a good amount Parker throughout 2 years of camp and Prescott has mentioned him before as a guy he likes. He’s the only guy on this list with a chance to stick around, albeit probably the PS. Dixon has a fighters shot at the PS but he’s gotta show more.

Now the UDFA rookies. Vasher has yet to practice and Eagles/Smith have been mentioned sparingly throughout camp and only made a catch or two during the preseason game. They must start to show in either camp or preseason to gain any momentum. Mitchell has been a constant throughout camp, and I think is a few good preseason games away from locking up a practice squad spot.

The rookie Fehoko has the draft pedigree to make the final roster, but between sporadic camp highlights and the lack of showing any juice during the HOF game he’s starting to trend down a bit. He’s got a long leash so he’ll continue to get every chance to show he belongs on the 53, but his lack of proven ST ability and so-so camp thus far points to a practice squad spot.

The proven specialists Brown and Turner have the experience and confidence of the staff to be effective on ST’s. Fortunately for the players and coaches, the way Brown and Turner have played in camp and the HOF game so far makes it easy as you’re not selecting one dimensional ST guys aka CJ Goodwin. They’ve both showed throughout camp and games that they are WR’s as well. Not only are they the only ST guys, they have both been far and away the most effective WR’s in camp outside the top 4.

The only question now is whether it’s 5 or 6 on the final roster. Turner is cheaper so he could win out, but Brown is more experienced and battle tested. This will be fun to watch as it’s the only real WR competition. The rest are fighting for practice squad spots. My guess is it ends up being Fehoko, Mitchell, and Parker.
 
Noah Brown most definitely has gotten quicker, stronger, faster, has drastically improved his route running the last 2 years, has lost a little body fat while gaining more muscle. You can see he has taken this opportunity seriously, and he has proven to be a special teams weapon while being a very good backup WR.

NO WAY should Jerry let Noah Brown go. Let someone else unproven go.
 
Y’all wait…a year from now, you will be asking for the 5th year in a row why this guy deserves to be on the team….time to look at guys with a higher ceiling….this team isn’t going anywhere this year anyway!

Yes sir in a nutshell,,, I admit to having preseason hype with the bios of the depth, but Brown and Wilson have a firm grip until proven otherwise.
 
I like Brown and hope he makes the team.

I like Wilson much better, and I doubt they can keep both after this season..

If Cooper and Gallup are going to be here in 2022, I doubt they can keep either, as each has been solid enough to probably get offers in the 3-4 per range.

They have some very big decisions at the WR spot in the coming offseason.
 
Brown is OK, but I don't see him ever becoming a starting WR.
 
No way in hell I'm cutting Noah for one of the younger players. His experience during the season ( he can play all three WR postions) is too valuable if we lose one of the top 3.

Wilson plays special teams, gunner on kickoffs and punt return and kickoff return. Cooper, Gallup, Lamb, Wilson, Brown and Fehoko. They aren't going to cut a draft pick will they? If he shows anything he makes the team. If he doesn't show much he will be cut and then resigned to practice squad.

The former clapping regime surely didnt either, very evident in how Brown was held to the dirty work.
Lets see what Moore has planned for Brown in this evolving spread offense, and how Brown reacts/responds when actually given that opportunity.
This offense gets really dangerous when we can find that WR4 with catch radius.

Garrett/Linehan rarely used Brown as an actual target. I'm not anti-Brown, but I think his cost will always play a big part on whether they extend or replace him.

do you have to sut guy to bring him back to PS..man i think in 17 game season and with covid you should be able to protect those guys just allocate to PS without cutting..and some should be protected from being pouched by other teams..

either that or expanded rosters..how long has it been 53? now 17 games its time to change this..
