Noah Brown's Progress?

Yea He consistantly catches passes thrown to him yet he dont get touches.. could be a good 3rd down redzone player but hey.. What do I know
 
He's been used more as a H-back than a WR. This coaching staff wants bunch of players with position flex.
Too bad since they end up just being jack of all trade, master of none types.

I think he slides in as the in-house replacement for Butler next season and we go from there. They ought to replace Butler's spot on the roster with a speed guy who can stretch the field and put pressure on TWill the season after that.

Or, we're looking at a pay cut for Dez or a higher replacement draft pick for that position group, instead. Or a veteran in FA, maybe. I don't think it's necessarily a good year for WRs in VFA though, is it? Who's out there? Jarvis Landry? Terrell Pryor? I haven't looked closely at that market yet. But we're overpaying Dez and have swallowed much of that cap hit. It's time to get realistic about paying him going forward.

Dez is a JAG now, cant catch worth a crap even when the ball hits him in the hands and even the 50/50 jump balls are more like 10/90 jump balls and I will let you guess which percentage is which.

They need to tell Dez, "look bro, we appreciate what you have done for us over the years, but you lost a step and cant catch a cold in a snow storm. Its either pay cut or release, your choice".

Besides, its not like Dak and Dez have this great chemistry we cant break up, just check out Dak's stats throwing to Dez and then throwing to the other receivers. Percy has had some very good posts showing this very clearly.
 
He might be the best run blocker at receiver that's on the roster. He has flashed and I'm excited to see more of him. Seems willing to do anything the team ask him. Has tons of potential and the ceiling is the floor with this guy.
 
He's Vince Mayle 2.0 right now.

Hopefully, he gets the opportunity to show that he can be more.

But hey, when your offense is scoring almost 10 points a game, you don't mess with that sort of success by changing things.

Brown is better than Dez but Jerry can't admit the Dez contract was a fail and demands that they keep throwing it to Dez.

Yeah, look at what he did for Miles Austin and Laurent Robinson. Those guys are financially secure the rest of their lives due to Tony.

I think our coaches don't trust the young offensive players, for whatever reason. Stashing Rico may be legit, but they've barely given Switzer or Brown much to do on offense, except special teams plays and blocking.

Garrett doesn't trust young players, especially at skill positions. Add that to a list of his faults. However in the past few years he had to play and trust more than usual.

Dez has become the new cowboyszone Tyrone Crawford. At least Dez has produced i guess. Crawford has been stealing Jerry's money for years.

It's not just about the cost of keeping a player. Its also about the cost to replace a player. I dont think we are in the position to create new holes which would cause us to use valuable resources filling these holes instead of using these resources filling old holes.

It would surely be nice to get some speed around here though. Why we resigned T Will is beyond me. He is mediocre in all aspects.

There are always a player or two that many in the CZ have to have as a whipping boy. And it changes on a whim from year to year, week to week, and from Garrett's phrase, day to day...LOL.
All it takes is one or two to get it started, then the usuals pile on.

Dez has never been given a fair shake from fans and the media.
....waiting for the "because he doesn't deserve it" crowd to chime in on that one...LOL

That is because this staff makes them that way. Instead of them coaching them to their strengths to excel.
Another reason this staff needs to go.

He didn't catch that many passes, because of a very bad broken leg. he did catch TD's and had a huge yards per catch stat.
He was coming around and catching everything when a broken leg ended his season. His next year, he was limited for a while because of it.
So that hurt his draft status. If not for the broken leg, I truly believe he could have been a high pick, at least a 2nd if not a late 1st rounder.

he was projected as high as a 3rd or 4th for a while. Not sure why he dropped. Probably because of lack of playing time as well as catches from that broken leg.

I won't deny he is somewhat of a project, but don't make it sound like he is a jag either.
