Little OT but I've never really cared for the HOF voting system. Or at least some of the voter's mindsets.
I think it was when Tony Gwynn was up for nomination, an absolute hall of fame player no doubt, and there were guys who wouldn't vote for him based on some stupid principle that no player should be unanimous because Babe Ruth (maybe some other player, can't quite remember) didn't get a unanimous vote.
Basically saying, "Because some idiot didn't vote the greatest player of all time, I'm going to be an idiot and make sure that a player who absolutely deserves to go doesn't get a unanimous vote".
