Lets remember some former Cowboy players that were not stars, but at one time they played a bigger role than they were ever given credit for...I'll name a few:

Preston Pearson: Back when Dallas first implemented the shotgun and were the only team using it...Preston Pearson would come out of the back field on a "wheel route" and get first down after first down. At one point, he was the only Cowboy on the roster that had ever played for another team. (Steelers).

Bill Bates...self explanatory. Special teams guru.

Steve Beurlein: I think he was only on the team one..maybe two years...but he won a couple of games as starting QB. I believe a playoff win. (but I didnt check this so correct me if my memory is failing)

Kelvin Martin: # 83. Clutch punt returner. Solid hands and made some 3rd down catches. Still remember his punt return at The Vet. I think it was a December game and cold and windy. He returned a punt for a TD that was huge on a day when the offense sputtered.

Got any guys to add?

Harper, Alvin.

Brown, Larry.

Norton, Ken Jr.- although I guess he was a bit of a star...

Washington too...

Bruce, Isaac.

I know there's more, but I've been drinking...

Thankfully.

Jay Saldi
Golden Richards
Scott Laidlaw

great answers. Golden Richards seems like he would catch one pass a game, but it would go for 45 yds...
Jay Saldi...why am I thinking he wore a head band?
and Scott Laidlaw, pre- Dorsett, was a solid RB...kind of a RB by committee...Laidlaw, Newhouse, Charles Young, Doug Dennison! Those were the days my friend.

I fully support the headband.

I would wear one to work, but I work for myself so there wouldn't be anyone to impress except my girl and she has grown too accustomed to my madness to appreciate it.

Maybe I should rock one while I walk my dag.

"A what?"

"A dog".
