*Marty B: "Does he have pictures of somebody?" How is he ahead of J Phillips in this lineup. Cited Bennett's holding and how coaches will view it.

*"Beeeler lost his job, period."

*"Can't explain OTree's entire evening. Can't line up properly, run correct route, looks lost a lot etc."

*Defending Costa as "tricked by Skins d-line, calling signals, blah blah"...[I'm not buying it]

*"T Choice running out of bounds was inexplicable."

*Plus side: Injured players made it thru the game.

*Most important play of game: Wash blitz, Romo rolling right, and directing Dez to the proper spot, getting him the ball.

*Congrats to Michelangelo Hall on facemask and not even sniffing Romo's ribs<----sarcasm

*Car wreck of a football game that both teams should have lost.(agreed)

I was wondering last night:

Is there some huge wind gust that enters the roof and affects the kickers? lol

Bailey kicks it off to like the 8 yard line on his first kick going one direction, and then after that, he was kicking into the endzone when the quarter ended.

Bailey is making me feel better. If he is consistent for a couple years, I will relax. But after that, don't cut him as soon as he has a bad streak, ala Nick Folk, the last consistent kicker we had.

The offense wasn't pretty, but the Cowboys defense and special teams played well. They earned this win.

Just because only one TD scored doesn't mean that neither team deserved to win.

Other than someone being unwilling to admit a mistake, I see no reason why the David Buehler experiment needs to continue.

Use the roster spot elsewhere on someone who can actually play.

Winning with defense is such an endangered commodity in today's NFL that no one understands the concept, much less appreciates it.

David Moore pointed out this morning that the Cowboys are one of only two teams in the NFL that are carrying two kickers, and the other team is New Orleans who is only carrying two kickers because they're waiting for Garrett Hartley to return from a hip injury.

While I trust Bailey as a place kicker, having him kickoff in the meadowlands, foxboro, philly or if we're lucky greenbay in the november, december and january months is asking for a runback.

Right now we have a good kicking situation and good coverege, let's not mess with it.

Surely Buehler is history now. Bailey is our kicker of now and the future IMO. There's no use trying to develop a big, dumb leg like Buehler into a refined FG kicker when you already have a younger version on the roster.

I understand the touchback argument, but I doubt it makes that much difference in the end. I mean, there are going to be times when you stop the guy inside the 20 anyway.

I'm actually really pumped about Bailey. I think this guy is the real deal. Those pressure kicks last night were not just good, but dead down the middle. Like I said in another thread, I heard him in a live interview this morning and he's so even keeled he's almost comatose, which is a good thing for a kicker. And he was the Groza award winner in the Big 12, which does have plenty of windy winter weather. I think this guy is a real talent and not some fluke.

I can buy Costa getting confused a couple of times, but this went on the whole game. Sorry that does not explain it.

This is complete BS. The Cowboys earned the victory. Who cares if it wasn't pretty. Would you rather have a pretty loss or ugly win? One team wins, one teams loses. There is none of this both teams should have lost.

Agreed. And leg strength is something he'll work on in the offseason. He seems to have plenty of leg on field goals. I loved the fact that every kick was right down the middle. No doubters.

I wonder if McBriar could do kickoffs. I know the Colts use their punter McAfee on kickoffs.

Especially since he was the top kicker coming out of college last year. Credit goes to Chris Boniol and the work he's done with him to get him out of his funk from traning camp, since that was apparently some sort of technical glitz he was working through.

I've been wondering why McBriar can't do kickoffs for years. I don't know why he doesn't at least attempt a training camp one year working on it just to see how it goes. I can't imagine he has much work to do from a punting standpoint. He has to have tons of free time standing around.

I was wondering if another team in the league had two kickers this year. Complete and utter waste. Unless Buehler can play another position and contribute to this team, he should get his pink slip, ASAP.

McBriar was asked about that years ago and he basically said he was no good at it.

I guess he could do it in a pinch, but not as a long term option.

excellent point. as long as he can make 40-45 yard field goals, I am happy.

I think they worked him out there for a few weeks last season or maybe the season before and he wasn't an option for some reason or another.

Buehler is a luxury this roster can't afford right now. Let him go and re-sign McCann.
