The cost to move up for Bryant will be too prohibitive. I predict the Cowboys deal down and then move back up .. .they’ll move all around in this draft. I think it’s more likely they deal to the 30 or early 40 range and take Nate Allen or Morgan Burnett in early 2nd round.

Names to keep an eye on…

27th pick..
Jared Odrick
McCourtney .. probably wont get past the Eagles at 24.
Dez Bryant

Early 2nd round...
Allen
Burnett

Late 2nd round…
Patrick Robinson CB .. probably wont make it that far.
Tyson Alualu .. probably wont make it that far.
Navaro Bowman .. likely could be there.

3rd round…
WR Jordan Shipley
DT Deanthony Smith Lousianna Tech
NG Torrell Troup Cental Florida
Chad Jones S LSU

4th Round ..
John Jerry Missississippi G

Later in the draft …

Corey Wooten Northwestern … blew out a knee at the end of 08 and came back last year at less than 100%. The knee is getting better. He was a late 1st or 2nd round talent before the injury.

Minnesota WR Eric Decker. Suffered a lisfranc injury and will slide.

He just corrected himself and said AOA probably goes in the 3rd round. Norm's train of thought is all over the place this morning.

Also said he could see the Cowboys going the entire draft without drafting an offensive tackle unless Ducasse falls into the 3rd. There just won't be value there at the Cowboys' picks.

A sliding Akwasi Owusu-Ansah – CB/S

garbage

Why would AOA be sliding? He ripped up the workouts.

small school...very raw...probably looking at a guy who's a yr or two away from playing on the regular defense...

More trading back huh.

More picks to cut in the fall. That sucks.

Please no. Of the players we had targeted in that range, he excites me the least.

3rd round…
WR Jordan Shipley
DT Deanthony Smith Lousianna Tech

Chad Jones S LSU

About the only one who I care for is Troup and even that is lukewarm at best.

4th Round ..
John Jerry Missississippi G
Good player, would be a nice versatile lineman to have.

Later? How much later? Wooton will likely be a 3rd or 4th round choice.
Minnesota WR Eric Decker. Suffered a lisfranc injury and will slide.

Good player, but any WR we take I would want to perform on special teams.

A sliding Akwasi Owusu-Ansah – CB/S

Okay with that.

If DRC went top 15 this guy shouldnt get out of R2.

I hate the idea of trading down then trading back up.

It might have worked for Spencer, but it was a disaster when Jones pulled that same stunt lusting after Quincy Carter. He ended giving up what he gained in the movement down in the first place.

I read about Eric Decker on cbssports; this Minn WR sounds like the type of player you want on your team; dropped only 4 passes over his college career; very tough guy - takes big hits and jumps right up; 6'3", 217. Was in the running for the Belitnikoff (sp) before getting injured.

You never know. Ducasse supposedly wimped out at the Senior Bowl and asked to be moved back inside to guard after getting whipped in some of the tackle drills. Plus there is the rumor that he is a little mentally slow because of some language issues.

Teams are funny about that sometimes. Witten was only available because some NFL people thought he was a coward for not lifting at the Combine.

I just don't think there are that many spots to be acquiring picks.

12 last year, how many are needed this year?

It's like Jerry and Co are going to the casino on a budget and decide to blow their wad on nickel slots. Yeah, you can play a whole lot but you're unlikely to make much. (not that anyone ever wins at a casino)

Just because last year was a disaster should not deter anyone from moving down and getting more choices in a better draft.

Last year was a very weak draft and we stockpiled a little unnecessarily. This year, we could trade back and still find starters well into round three.

I keep hearing this story and I hate that logic. Ducasse was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and has a ton riding on all this. He is raw as hell and was getting worked at tackle. Its understandable that he didnt want to look silly in his first time in front of NFL people.

i would be bummed if we go dont select anybody in the first rd,JJ needs a great deal imo to move down.I am not sure a deal like mid 2nd,3rd and a 6th rd pick is worth it.I think there is a excellent chance that somebody with a first rd grade will be there at 27.

All I can say is that I want a player who will work for things, not take the easy route out if things get difficult. I can appreciate he had a lot riding on it, but so do a lot of other players. He was more concerned how he looked than simply showing he was willing to tough it out. That's not necessarily someone I want protecting my quarterback.

Fine, I'll admit. Trading back is boring. I ****ing hate it. Spend all damn day waiting for a late round 1st only to see Jerry wink a couple of times and move things back.

I dont know if he knows people will be thinking that. all he knew was he was playing out of position and every play the saw of him he looked terrible. So in makes some sense hed rather show them what he was good at.
