Norm, on the ticket, cowboys and pats rumor

Totally right, dont let the pats hoodwink you jerry, and dont get over enthused over the 60th pick, Use the trade for value chart Jerry.

Your giving up to much if you take the 17th and 60th. The Pats have to give up alittle to move up that far. Use the Chart Jerry! Stand your ground, you might get a better deal from another team.

thanx for the heads up cowboyjoe
I wont get hoodwinked now and will 'stand my ground'

...err...i mean, jerry will stand his ground ;)

I think I disagree. #60 & #71 using the draft value chart could get us to #31 or #32. Having 3 picks at #17, #32, #40 could really upgrade this team.

See cowboyjoe's response:

It should be the pats 1st 17th and their 33rd, thats a 100 points your giving up Jerry, pats are trading up, not you. Period, no ifs ands or buts. :star:

Using the chart Jerry,
9th 1350
17th 950
33rd 580
60th 300

That would be one of the worst trades in recent memory. Stupid and better not happen

i have seen worse

2 1's for galloway
1 and 3 for a WR about to become a FA (so would have had to give up nothing)

I will give you one guess on who made both those trades :D

Screw that, I would be pretty pissed if we did that trade...especially because there is no guarantee our guys will be there, too far down for too little.

If the Hoody wants Cameron Jordan so bad, he has to give up 17 and 33, imo. Like the Hoody states, you are trading players, not draft slots. Dallas is losing a blue chip OT that took care of their target on film.

I wouldn't give up Tyron Smith, but if you do the deal, you better get 33.

So, 33 would have to be in the deal, imo.

I wouldn't do it.

I'd draft Tyron Smith at 9 and build my team, not the Hoody's team.

If no first round player was there at 40, I'd trade down in round 2 (but stay in round 2) and draft Rodney Hudson to start at LG. I'd pick up the extra third that way. I'd pick twice in round three. Kenrick Ellis could be a target in round 3. Wisniewski could be a target in round 3.

If Dallas could get these players, I'd be very happy:

1. Tyron Smith (Blue Chip OT)
2. Rodney Hudson (starting LG)
3. Kenrick Ellis (DL) (Character is a concern for me, but Dallas likes him)
3. Stefan Wisniewski (C/G)

This gives Dallas the best offensive linemen in the draft, a strong, athletic LG who is ready to start, a big, athletic DL player, and Andre Gurode's replacement in 2012 and a player who is ready to play now and can play RG.

9 for 17 and 33??? sign me up for that one...ill even throw in our 4th

Goose had Kenrick Ellis as the 45th best player, so if you want him it will probably take a 2nd round pick. He does have Rodney Hudson at 66 so maybe you could get him in the third with Wisniewski.

I would make that trade. I would actually try and see if we could get their 3rd round pick (74) and their 2012 1st but yeah, I would make that trade.

Castonzo, Carimi or Solder will be there and other options are also there later in the draft.

Plus Sherrod would probably be there as well.

That said, I'd at the minimum demand the Pats 17th, 60th, and a 3rd round pick.

#17, #33, and a swap of later picks to make up the difference.

If they want #9, they have to give up control over day 2, it's that simple.

The Cowboys CAN'T be this fricking stupid, can they?

If it happens you will have to start questioning Big Red's intelligence. No way he allows that trade to happen.

usually the person who is trading up tends to pay more in terms of value. At least that is what I have noticed since I've been following the draft. I sincerely doubt that is the trade. I'm assuming Norm is speculating and doesn't know what the heck he is talking about.

That is exactly what I am thinking. Remeber: NE wants to move up .....SO MAKE IT WORTH OUR WHILE ..... WE ARE IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT, NOT THEM!!!!

I would just stay away from a trade with the Patriots. There's no way Jerry is going to trade with Belichick and not end up getting fleeced.

You must have been asleep last year when we got #24 from them for less than what they wanted from us

My philospohy would be simple, give us pick #33 as part of the deal or there is no deal.
