I woke up this morning with the realization that the playoffs are finally here, and the game today has implications on next week if we beat the Giants. Much to my surprise I find myself really wanting the Seahawks to win this afternoon.

It's not because I fear facing Green Bay again, I don't. It's not because we have already beaten the Packers and there's nothing left to prove. There is. Revenge is driving the locomotive of this desire. The desire to see a chapter close; for good.

Last year's loss to Seattle still eats at me. Not for the reason you might think. I knew "the Bobble" was going to be a major theme of 2007's storyline of the Cowboys; and it was. I think I heard it mentioned at least once, every game we played. I knew it would be. I even said it would be when the game was over last year. I still find myself wanting to shut them up.

I know if Seattle versus Dallas is the NFC Championship matchup, the Bobble story is going to be the single biggest annoying storyline leading up to that game, and throughout the game. I don't care.

I know that if we get our revenge that 2008 will replay the Bobble every game again, and then casually mention the revenge. I don't care. I still want to exorcise that demon; with extreme prejudice.

Ask me about Seattle versus Green Bay today, and I'll tell you "put your money on Green Bay," and if I was betting, that's exactly what I'd do. In my heart I'm going to be rooting for Seattle, and it isn't because I like them better. I don't.

It's simple, pure, unadulterated lust for revenge.

I feel the same way, HOS.

I'm also wishing I wasn't up at 5:00 am thinking about these things but I guess the time is growing near.

I would love to play Seattle, and I beleive there is a reasonable possibility this happens.

It was 3:00 AM out here when I started thinking about this stuff. I just couldn't sleep.

I want a Dallas/Seattle NFC Championship game for different reasons. A financial one. If either Seattle or the Colts win the Super Bowl, I get to do my best Pacman impersonation and "make it rain."

Ofcourse, I still want our Boys to win, but it would be a WIN/win situation. The "WIN" being a Cowboys victory and the "win" being a Colts or Seattle victory.

I know, I'm selfish.

Go Cowboys!...(and the Seahawks and Colts.)

I agree. Seattle would be great for our momentum. The media will feed our fire and everyone will want to see "Golden Boy" (Romo) revenge himself.

We would have band-wagoners lining up, since their teams are out of the post season picture.

Otherwise, it's Farve and everyones desire to see him get his ring.

We could use some positive energy going into this run for the Super Bowl.

I will be rooting for Seattle as well. I want revenge I would love nothing more than the wipe the smirk of Mike Holgrem's face. That smirk from last year still eats me up everytime I think about it.

I beleive Romo wants it too and if Seattle wins today, we might just see Romo light it up on Sunday.

I don't care really. The thought of knocking out Favre with the renewed love affair in the media with him would be pretty sweet.

I actually feel more confident in beating one of them than I do the Giants..who i am fairly confident we'll beat.

Personally I want nothing to do with a Holmgren coached team in the NFC Champ game. He has been there and done that. They also generate a lot of pass rush with front 4.....

I'll take a young and overrated Packers team. Favre is scarred after the beating we gave him last time and will innevitably implode.

I know how easy it is to typo online, since I'm becoming more and more prone to it. But this phrase has me imagining Richard Simmons in tight shorts out there urging the Seahawks on, "Ok Hawks, lift those legs, tighten those fannies!"

I think it's exorcise.

David.

You are right. I will edit it. As I said, I started that idea at 3 in the morning and the fog was still thick.

I understand the revenge motivation, but I don't really have that for the Seahawks. It was last season's Saints game that tweaked me and I'm disappointed that the Cowboys aren't getting a shot at the Saints this year.

One of the most annoying things about "The Bobble" storyline is that the media erroneously takes it for granted that the botched hold caused the loss. The Dallas defense wasn't playing well that day. Even if the kick had been good, I don't think the Cowboys would have won.

The loss to the Seahawks was just too frustrating. Dallas had that baby right in their hands. And then the Seahags took Chicago, the eventual NFC rep, to overtime.

It could have very easily been Dallas taking on the Colts last February. And the Cowboys matched up a lot better with Indy than the Bears did.

A rematch with Seattle would be the perfect opportunity for Romo in particular. A chance to at least obscure a pretty much indelible image of him fumbling the snap on what was likely a game-winning FG.

Agreed.

The only way to really bury the bobble is to beat them. It for more than one reason tough.

When I see that bobble it still amazes me that he catches the ball and as he is putting it down it slicks/slides down out of his grasp. It just doesnt seem natural.

I think there was foul play.

So... getting back.... yes, revenged... at home... against the same team.

Its not what happens to you when faced with pressure or adversity... its how you react/come back from it. Do you focus or do you crumble? I am banking on Romo and the former.

Payback... and this time its for real.

I don't really care who we beat to get to the Super Bowl.

I don't see the bobble as big as a lot of people. Had we made that FG, does anyone really believe our D would have stopped Seattle from driving down the field and kicking the game winning field goal?

I had 0% confidence in that defense last year the way it was being used.

I'm rooting for Seattle also because I'm tired of hearing about Favre all the time! Yeah, he's a great QB but the sooner his name is not out there anymore the better...

(now, win or lose, watch him come back next year) :bang2:

I hate to agree there. I dont remember how much time was left, but I remember then thinking there was WAY too much time left after the go ahead FG...that didnt happen.
