I don't know what games you watch, but Norv is a dang good offensive coordinator that all Cowboys fans should show respect for.
Yes, but is head coaching record leaves so much to be desired.

That's what this discussion is about.

Didn't you get the memo?

Jason is staying right here with the Cowboys fellas. He might be our head coach next year.

Norv is an agenda coach like BP. His agenda doesn't fit SD's personnel.

Norv don't teach defense.

San Diego's defensive success was built on teeing off on an opponent who was trying to play catchup. Under Turner the SD offense has not executed well with any regularity, so opponents have had the freedom to run on SD's D. That has been a common theme of Norv Turner's Head coaching stops. I suspect he tries to be Head Coach/OC instead of letting his OC run with it and his team gets a stretch thin Norv micromanaging.

I am very glad that Jerry came to his senses in time and hired the finalist with a winning head coaching record. It should also be noted that Wade the head coach had more than a little success with the QBs who played for him in his last two head coaching gigs.

If San Diego doesn't go at least 9-7 with NFL top 5 talent, Turner should be fired this year. Frankly 9-7 or 10-6 would only buy him 1 more year with me.

Frankly, I'd fire Turner, keep the staff, and elevate Rivera. (But I wouldn't have fired marty. kurt S. was a pretty decent defensive coordinator. they should have let Marty have his brother on staff and just let him coach out his contract and go for the superbowl. What is right is right.)

Norv was an OC with SF last season where they played very well. Before that he was with SD and developed Brees. He has always been an excellent OC.

I understand being a head coach is different than being a coordinator because there are more responsibilities. That being said, his offenses have always been lackluster when he was the head coach and that shouldn't have been the case. It would be one thing if his team underachieved due to his team's defense but his offenses have been just as unremarkable. Let's be honest, Norv Turner is a great QB coach not an offensive coordinator. I don't think his playcalling skills have ever been exception including his time with Dallas. Even when the Cowboys won the Superbowl, it wasn't because Turner had this ingenious offense. We won with ball control and a dominating defense. We had star players who made big plays. We were not winning because we had this amazing system. Our offense itself was very simple and at times predictable but we were the best at execution so it didn't matter. Norv deserves credit for developing QB's because even when he was the offensive coordinator, he spent a lot of time personally developing the QB's which many offensive coordinators do not do.
