Not a bad idea bringing Dan Reeves

This is not a bad idea bringing in Reeves as a consultant. He's one of the better minds in football. And I think he brings an old school type attitude that will only help Jerry and Wade in their thought process towards the team, whether that's in practice, or in personell decisions.

This move only goes to show that GM Jerry is still willing to do what it takes to better this football team, and more importantly, win!

I'm excited he is coming here (hopefully, we've not seen thats its a done deal) but am still curious as to what his role is really going to be.

I really do think if he was mostly a "consultant" to Jerry they would have finalized it and announced it by now. That role isnt that big of a deal.

The NFL doesn't want any announcements during SB week. They don't want it to take away from the game.

other teams made announcements this week, several teams hired assistants...one leaked who the new HC was...the Pats hired Floyd Reese as a "consultant"

like I said, I am not buying that as the reason this hasnt been announced

Hmmm I missed those maybe there is more to it.

Maybe they don't want them to hold press conferences at the SB site.

If Reeves is hired just as an advisor to Jerry, I doubt he'll have a PC for that.

After the season ended, Wade said he was going to speak with a couple of coaches to get their input, include Marty S.

I wonder after his conversations with some football guys, he and JJ decided to basically bring in someone as a sounding board?

Or is this primarily JJ's idea?

Dan is going to be the new HC and Wade is going to be the 1st Asst HC/DC, Jason will be 2d HC/OC. I'm not a physic but I have stayed Holiday Inn Express. (of course I had to mop floors for two weeks when they found out I didn't have money) just kidding

All this is just a bone being thrown to everyone that believes we need a new coach. Reeves is just a quick fix. Maybe good for a season. It's putting off the inevitable. I really hope that Wade sticking around doesn't block a potential prospect ( Shanny or Cowher ) from seriously considering Dallas.

I agree. Although nothing has officially been announced yet (Jerry being good for Roger?), this move excites me a little.

I wouldn't doubt it at all. Jerry likes to bring as much attention as possible to the Boys and a PC would bring more attention that just an announcement.

I don't expect a presser on this at all.

But I am excited by this. I doubt he will have much positive to say about the circus atmosphere in Dallas. Hopefully Jerry will listen and make changes accordingly.
