Not addressing the running game with either of the first 2 picks

The ubris of this organization to convince themselves they can manage a good enough running game with a part time scat back like Felix Jones...um, sorry, excuse me...Tony Pollard...was part of their undoing offensively.

Could have had a good inside RB in the 2nd round than the backup TE. And don't get us started on the bust DT Kevin Brooks from Michigan. Oops, sorry again, I meant Mazi Smith.

Seriously, it is like history repeating itself. "We don't need Julius Jones anymore...Felix Jones can take over at RB full time".

Sure. Wash, rinse, repeat.
We need to address QB with 1st round pick. Period.

Wow.

We nearly averaged 5 yards per rush as a team yesterday, and we are blaming the running game?

You gotta take the best player available at an import position.

DT is an important position....but unfortunately Mazi was a universally regarded 3rd or 4th rd talent ... by EVERYONE....except Jerruh and his idiot son Fredo.

Pollard and Felix were both wasted trying to squash them into the mold of a bell cow.

Should have gotten a RB to pair with Pollard so he could be a motion RB/WR. Also, should have gotten a RB to at least try to groom to take over for next year. Didn't need to spend a 2 on that. Could have spent a 4-6 to try him out, and if he doesn't work, then look at spending more this year.

The closest we got to a guy to pair with Pollard was Luepke. Though I like Luepke, that was going way too cheap. Still wish we had heard from the team on just what happened with the fumble.

Drafting a backup Tight End in the second Round had me ready drive to Dallas to Strangle Jerry.

Part time scat back was a Pro Bowler and one of the more explosive RBs in the NFL in '22.

if Pollard is a part time scat back... then what do we call Packers RB Aaron Jones ..?
what do we call Gibbs & Montgomery in Detroit, .. James cook in Buffalo ?

When I see " inside" RB that tends to spell bell cow pounder.

I really think some fans are so used to Cowboys having such a
pounding type back, that they don't/won't know anything else otherwise. Any other type back.

My gripe is even Pollard was in his '22 form, our coaches will not scheme and exploit him as a Aaron Jones,
Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, Travis Etienne,

The running game starts with the OL and a QB that poses a credible threat to burn the defense for stacking the line against it. We need to fix those problems before investing a premium pick in a rb.

Defense wins championships. A fact that’s been lost on Jerry since Jimmy Johnson walked the sideline.

That's because Dak had like 50 yards and I think he was averaging 7 yards of carry

Pollard had his usual 50 yards but was averaging like 3.7.

When our quarterback needs to run that much usually means things aren't going too well

agreed. The run game actually looked fine to start the game. Our only positive plays for the first 15 minutes were literally running plays. We then had to abandon the run completely because of the pickle our QB got us into with the 2 turnovers and that was the game.

Our run game is fine.. except that no one respects Daks arm. When we go up against a well drilled team.. they take away CD and watch the rest crumble.

We are running a out dared blocking scheme .
RBs didn't decide to take the year off.
We wasted the talent on this OL hopefully the coach has his bags packed

I’d much much much rather address the DEFENSIVE run game deficiency. Get real LBers in here; they’re much harder to find than a serviceable RB
This right here. Need a top playmaking rookie LBer. Should be priority number 1.

Isn’t it obvious we need to shore up our defense, especially the running game. Isn’t it obvious that has been the problem for years now? Isn’t it obvious if we don’t, we are screwed because we have a QB that turns to mush in the playoffs once the heat gets turned up? No brainer.

The interior d line and linebacker are the most significant problem. Running back can wait till the third/fourth round or a veteran guy in free agency. I do agree that Pollard can't be the every down guy his legs are completely shot after the injury
