Not impressed with T. Edwards...

I would agree that the media (aka ESPN) seemed to be looking for a Bills success story and were giving Edwards more praise than he deserved, but how can you say that Romo was the better QB? I know he won, but isn't all the Romo love after this game a little like Lovie Smith constantly saying "Rex is our Quarterback." I just hope this game was a blip and not a sign of things to come.

It's about what you do when the game is on the line. It's about taking your team down the field and scoring points. Romo played like complete crap, but we still scored 25 points. He still took us down the field and put us in a position to win the game. He picked himself up off the turf after every single turnover and STILL went into the game each time and threw the ball like nothing bad had happened.

That's what a good QB is. Period.

He's a rookie who hasn't played much over the past year. He didn't have time to sit and learn.

I swear, folks on this board don't understand context. It is all about huge fantasy stats = good.

I don't think he threw a ball more than 10 yards this entire game.

His line for the night:

T. Edwards 23/31 176 0 1

and us:

T. Romo 29/50 309 2 5

He did "OK"; they were playing the Bills up all night because of Thurman "I can't win the bigone" Thomas and Jim "Four chokes and counting" Kelly were in the house for the half-time cermony. Edwards only turned it over once and survived to tell the tale. It was typical ESPN garbage, I'm glad we could spoil their big plans for him.

He was solid. Had a very good game for a rookie against a team that honestly out matched his team at almost every position.

He should get more time. He will eventually have to come out of his shell sometime, but this game wasn't the one for him to be asked to do it. Our defense is better than their offense, and they knew it, they showed it right from the begining.

Okay, I get you. If it was coaching and it probably was? Fine. Why all love for him? He didn't SHOW anything even if it was the coaching that was preventing him from showing it.

WTH does that mean?

It was argued that the only reason he didn't throw anything but short passes was because the gameplan / coaching didn't call for anything more. Fine. Even if that's the case, he still didn't show anything to me.

That's what I meant.

Yeah, I got that (all the love) from the "football" folks at ESPN also BUT that had nothing to do w/ Edwards. I just believe it's crazy to rip a rookie QB.....

I like Romo, but if you think his performance tonight was that of a good QB then I don't know what you were watching. Yes, he lead the team in the end, but if it wasn't for him screwing up so bad in the first place there would never have been a come back.

Let's not forget that we won the game because we recovered an on side kick. So we can say Romo is a good QB (and I think he is) but we got lucky tonight. Perioid.

Now I'm going to get torched, but Romo's performance tonight was sorta Carteresque. He pretty much did everything he could to lose this game but managed to pull it out.

He was OK, the Bills were obviously being careful with him... but you're right, when the smoke cleared the Bills had only 148 yards on 34 pass plays (counting the 3 sacks)... the Boys didn't really get hurt through the air... of course, they didn't really get hurt on the ground, either; after giving up 229 yards and 3.9 yards per play, the Boys' defense is up to 8th in the NFL...

In their last three games, the Boys' defense has been nothing but DOMINANT... they have allowed 13 points in those 3 games, 218.3 yards per game (655 net yards on 165 plays), and 4.0 yards per play... two of those three games have been played on the road, too...

Man, if we ever get the offense AND the defense clicking like both have clicked at (usually different) times this year, we're gonna be tough for anybody to handle...

Edwards was the bus driver Bill has always wanted, but about I don't think there's much argument to who played better TONIGHT.

Avg yds per attempt: Romo 6.18 Edwards 5.68
Avg yds per completion: Romo 10.66 Edwards 7.65
Completion %: Romo 58% Edwards 74.2%
QB Rating: Romo 49.9 Edwards 74.1

Compared to the symbol for quarterbacking futility:
Rex Grossman in 2006
Avg yds per attempt: 6.65
Avg yds per completion: 12.19
Completion %: 54.6%
QB Rating: 73.9

But the stat that is most impressive that won't show up "in the stat sheet"...Romo led the team to two scoring drives(if you want to call the second one a drive) in the final 3:45 during crunch time that allowed his teammates to make plays for the victory.

Also, here's a comparison of the two halves for Romo:
1st Half
Avg yds per Att: 6.19
Avg yds per Comp: 12.38
Comp %: 50%
QB Rating: 50.8

2nd Half
Avg yds per Att: 6.18
Avg yds per Comp: 10.0
Comp %: 61.8%
QB Rating: 76.8

I know it doesn't make sense that Romo's QB Rating actually was better in the 2nd half than in the first half, but when combined for the game, his rating actually drops to lower than his abysmal 1st half rating. I think it has to do with the screwy formula and the monumental achievement of tossing 5 Ints vs 4.
