Not liking Day3 so far

I don’t like this line of thinking but it’s probably statistically true but it’s because you’re picking guys like Armstrong and Schultz who are just limited players.

I’d rather swing for the fence with these picks then swing for the base hit.
When this team swings for the fences, all too often it winds up in the catchers mitt.

I would have liked to have taken Tim Settle with one of the picks. Maybe he falls to round 5?

Any pick after the 3rd round is around 50/50 to make the roster. Probably about 25% to make a meaningful contribution.

Unless you're an 0-16 team, the picks made in the first 3 rounds are just under 50/50 to become at least part time starters. The bottom 4 rounds, it's about 12%.

Again, this same exact thread or sentiment has been expressed in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and now…

Every single year, fans fret over the Cowboys late round picks.

Every……single……year.

Armstrong is too small for 3 downs.

Schultz is just a guy. No special traits. Complete jag.

From what I read, he can block well enough now to translate into the NFL level. He’s also from an offense that doesn’t throw the ball a ton to really judge him as a pass catcher but I do read that he runs good routes and has good hands.

Armstrong? He doesn’t need to start. Teams from the NFC East that have won the SB lately usually do so with several pass rushers. I would like this team to have a point where they don’t have to rely so heavily on 2-3 players on the DL.

The 4th and 5th round should still be rounds where you’re picking upside with starter potential and neither one of these guys are that.

Both of these guys may end up being solid role players but I’m not taking a guy that has no chance of being a starter in the 4th and 5th rounds.

Save that for the tail end and udfa.

3/5 picks on offense and another pick traded for a WR was not what I expected. 1 of the defensive picks was a DE while I have been hoping for a big, strong DT.

I hope we find gems at S, DT and LB with remaining picks.

I don’t get Armstrong when there were DTs on the board.

And Josh Sweat on the board.

How do you know who will be what? Seriously?

I think the Cowboys brass should pay you guys to draft for them.

I dont come cheap, but willing to listen to any offers. Cowboys being my favorite team and all. :D

Dude I’ve been following the draft for almost 20 years and I know my football.

I’m wrong sometimes but so are these geniuses that make these picks.

Neither of these guys have the upside to potentially be starters and if they do start like Schultz potentially could he will get replaced the first chance they get.

Armstrong shows how Marinelli still has a stronghold on how they draft.

Disappointed to see them ignoring Nose Tackle again. Not surprised though.
Still, If guys like Taco, Jaylon and LVE step up
and produce then I think the defense
can be pretty good regardless.

Secondary and pass rush should be areas
of strength for the defense, IMO.

Give me Fatukasi or Kendrick Norton at this point and I am done.

Really liked 1-3. Rd 4 a little bid of a head scratcher with the pass rusher and then a TE that really doesn't give us anything we don't have unless he maybe is the best blocking TE we have.

Might agree that Armstrong is more of a OLB and has ability to rush also, Schultz is a Witten clone just watch the tape and interviews and much better pass catcher than any believe. Mike White should challenge Rush for the backup job and if Dak for some reason doesn't work out White could be the guy if not develop him and trade him just like New England does seemingly every other year.

Dallas addresses positions they need to address. The RB is Austin instead of a draft pick. Will all these guys make it and become starters, no, not on any team because it never happens for any team.
