Not only displaced ticket holders unhappy

In the wake of the disastrous ticket debacle at the Super Bowl where hundreds of fans were displaced despite being paying customers holding tickets to the big game with litigation on the horizon, there's another level of dissatisfaction.

That involves unhappy fans who waited in long lines as they trudged into Cowboys Stadium to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers.

No surprise here. It took me nearly 90 minutes to get into the Bears game, missing half of the first quarter.

Security shake downs stopped whilst the same guy searched through bags. There were plenty of pissed fans where I was.....

The Super Bowl in Dallas was a cluster of epic proportions.

All parties involved should share in the embarrassment.

I believe this happened because they had to shut some doors down due to falling ice.

The first time anyone goes there it is kind of confusing. Your ticket has a gate entry on it and you have to go in that gate because inside the stadium you can not roam around freely.

The gates are poorly marked outside imo and causes all kinds of confusion. Then once in line they do a poor job of telling people that men and women must be in different lines because of checkdowns.

I am sorry to hear you were in line for 90 minutes for the bears game that sucks. I always go in gate G and I am one of the first ones in every week. I only stand in line maybe 15 minutes each week.

I can imagine though if you get there 30 minutes before kickoff you wont make it in on time. the security has to pat people down, then check your bags, then get your ticket scanned and then a 10 minute walk through the party plaza into the building. Some security guards are really strict about the camera lenses being 6 inches or longer and some guards simply do not care.

It holds the lines up when the guards are jerks about the lenses.

Horrors.

No kidding. My initial thought as well.

DUH!!! This ain't Southwest Airlines.........

Yeah theebs, I've read that some of the gates had to be closed because of the ice falling off the roof. Weather was the culprit.

a lot of people like to hate on Dallas. seriously we are one of the most hated cities in sports. i could careless about their complaints. we dealt with those who lost their seats now everybody needs to shut up and move on with their lives.

I was at the same game - took a long time to get in as well. System did not look well organized.

Sounds to me like a lot of Steelers fans are disappointed their team lost and are sure it was somebody's fault other than the team of course ..

What a bunch of whiners--my Jag needs a tuneup! my latte is cold! I'm losing my tan? the weather was awful in Hawaii! Get a life -- go help someone who really has something to complain about!

now I feel better

Anybody who doesn't have the mental capacity to look at their ticket, see what entrance they need to be at, and find that entrance, doesn't need to be out in public. Just saying.

Waiting in a long line ? Now that is more of a nightmare than casmith07 running for cover during a mortar attack.....

Unbeknownst to the fans, four gates would be shut for security reasons. Ever see the Three Stooges try to get through one door at the same time? They get stuck.

I'm not talking Super Bowl. Someone earlier said the stadium was confusing.

Did they change the security company? It was the first home game of the season, so perhaps they weren't so slick? When you pay premium prices you expect security to get you into the stadium for the game. :)

The following week we were at the Houston game. The difference there was if you had a bag for checking you were passed across to another security person. This kept the line moving. We were in our seats with time to spare.

You'd think they'd have it sorted by the Superbowl.

The gates being closed due to the falling ice didn't help, but I agree with the overall point. Having seen it in action, it wasn't the most coordinated entry into a stadium that I have witnessed.
