Not playing to the level of the competition

The Boys struggled in preseason and the first few games. However, it seems to me that the Cowboys turned the corner about mid-season. They quit playing to the level of the competition and started to impose their will on other teams. That confidence really played out in the last four games where they also showed a killer instinct, petal to the metal, attitude. Onside kick with a three score lead! I like this take no prisoners brashness.

Garrett frustrates writers because when asked about opposing players he just says we focus on being our best and not on other teams or players. The team has caught the mantra of “Putting your head down and going to work to be your best regardless of the circumstances.” When behind or even when having the lead they compete like every play matters.

I am not sure if the defense is overachieving or just playing to their potential with confidence. One thing is for sure, if they keep this style of play up they stand a very good chance of playoff success.

The swagger is back

New commitment to the running game and as Romo got healthier we started playing our best ball with this team.
It still kind of as Romo goes the team goes. If he's healthy and the oline is healthy we can stay with or beat any one.

Thanks OP, nice post, and for not flat out saying over achieving, and for recognizing the fact that they are playing to a level of which they are capable of. It was just a matter of time for them to gel.

Still need some players as we all know. But that's for the off season.

Rather the offense keeping the ball to help, but that's football 101, but some will use that as an excuse to say the defense is still bad and hiding it that way. but they have come up with some big plays and key TO's and stops when needed.
Like 4 game ending / drive INT's and a few fumbles as well.
