Not so fast on Sharper?

Alan Ball isn't exactly untried.... The guy started 4 games last season and we didn't do too bad when he was in there. I trust w/e the coaching staff decides especially after the moves made last offseason. If they like Ball, Hamlin, and AOA @ FS then I trust em.

I can deal with the release of K. Hamlin. But if they don't sign Sensy, I'm gonna be P'd. Dude played some good ball for us last year.

I just hope this year isn't one of those years where you don't know what you got till it's gone.

Well... I am not a big fan of Sharper honestly so I wouldn't mind him not being signed.

I don't know though... Wade sometimes says what he is suppose to say instead of what he truly feels imo. Then again, it could also be strategy in possibly trading or signing someone as well. You never know.

And we will see how Ball does. Again, if we find talent within house that can do the job... I am all for it, but if Ball did such a great job last year, why wasn't Hamlin benched? Money again (i.e. Roy Williams)?

I think Hamlin came back from injury and they felt he had the experience Ball did not have not to mention Ball had been working between safety and CB. I fully expect to see Ball focused solely on Safety this off season.

Main thing I think it is a numbers game facing the Cowboys and they do not seem willing to part with the safeties they have on the roster for a guy like Sharper. One thing Ball showed me last season he will not get you beat, he may not have the ints but he was not getting burnt in the secondary and to me that is #1 thing

I just think this team has proven they can find players in the draft. Especially in the 4th round.

I'd like a vet at the position but not someone that keeps potential on the bench.

I don't want to be strapped at safety like we are at receiver with Roy Williams because of a stupid contract.

AOA has all the ability in the world so it just doesn't make sense to sign a guy for 3 or 4 years to me.

I am sure Pat Watkins, Deangelo Smith, C. Brown had all the ability in the world... but look at how they performed.

Like I said, if they perform in camp like they belong, then put them on the field. One long term contract for a player who performs like Atogwe won't hurt the Boys at all.

What sucks is I wanted Sharper around the time Woodson retired. But people told me then he was too old. Now look at the guy. I still think he has a couple years left in him.

Yeah... I am with you on the Sharper deal. No thanks...

We will see what Ball has this year in camp. I will say, if JJones goes and gets a player like Atogwe or even Sharper, that tells you what they really think about their S.

True if they go out and get another safety then that tells me they are not sold on Ball or Mike Hamlin in getting the job done. Right now I think they do feel Ball can go out and do the job with their eye on AOA as the future at that spot.

Think I would rather have Atogwe anyway.

A nightmare scenario for play-by-play announcers....

Today's starting safeties for the Dallas Cowboys are Oshiomogho Atogwe and Akwasi Owusu-Ansah.

Say that 5 times fast.

So people want Hamlin gone because all he does is not give up the big play, but can't get INTs. Now we are happy to have Ball because he does the same thing. The safeties I like on our roster to take Hamlin's spot is Mike Hamlin, but even more, AOA. But right now, we want to make the super bowl THIS year. And if that means signing a mercenary like Sharper, then so do it. We have a difficult schedule this year, and if we want to make it to the super bowl, we need to pull out all the stops. And in an uncapped year, we only have one bullet in the FA gun, so let's use it on a difference maker like Sharper. We can sign a veteran OL that gets released to backup Free. Sharper won't be a progress stopper like Atogwe would be. Atogwe would want a long term contract.

Had Dallas not taking AOA then I would be more inclinded to say get a vet FA.

"Impression"? they take crazy blog entries then use that as sources. Which is making it up as far as I am concerned.

I have an inside source that says we may or may not sign Sharper.
That's insightful... may or may not.....
