But, it is what it is.

Mazi is a two down guy.
That's what MM has wanted for a while. A NT. Finally spent a real pick to get one.

On passing downs, we use DEs at DT.

DLaw was only 60% of snaps last year. Highest for dline. That's our defense. We have role players and rotation.

To me this confirmed what I said…they don’t see guard as an issue. They are starting their five best linemen and that may be with Tyler Smith at guard.
Tyler won't be a Guard both Jerry and Stephen made it clear already he's the starting lt in 2023 and also said tyron is def the starting rt. Steele will either be the LG or he will be the swing tackle.

People are just pissed the Cowboys didn't address LG as a need as they initially thought. I didn't see a need at LG, so I'm definitely not surprised with the Cowboys not seeing one either.

On third and long, we don’t need Mazi on the field. We are stronger with 3 to 4 DEs on the line such as Lawrence moving inside.

On third and 1, we can have Hankins and Mazi side by side in the trenches.

Mazi as a 2 down back is not a negative for a NT. And we need that role to be better… way better. Mazi solves that problem.

I think that’s what they’re saying but I’m not buying it. I think by seasons end Tyler will be our guard if Tyron is healthy.

This is what I’ve tried to prepare people for. No guard was starting for us this year. And I said that forgetting about Chuma. But these guys know everything and the Cowboys don’t lol.

Yeah, they asked him to play the run on 3rd and 10 LOL. Some of you are so commical.
You have a very basic view of the game. There are other ways to affect the pass rather than getting sacks. These include: eating up two blockers to keep the LBs clean, collapsing the middle and flushing the QB out, ensuring no escape in the middle for a scrambling QB, etc

Wow 16th out of 1105 TEs...
How many were better in this draft? Not that I put a lot of stock in things like this. Just how many players look great on highlight films and measure great and then are meh at best.

Mazi is a two down guy. I hope they plan on using him on first and 2nd down with Hankins. He's not a big body like Hankins and uses his quick get off to get the upper hand on OL. This smells like a MM kind of pick. He loved them bigger DT in GB. RAJI, Montgomery, Picket, Daniel's all we bigger guys.

Mazi and Hankins would command double teams inside. What think this does is frees up Vander Esch. Say what you want but the 2nd half of the yr Vander was very good. No coincidence he missed the jags game and they lit up this def running the ball.

Hopefully they plan on using him more than the traditional NT, because that would be a waste of a pick considering who was still there. Not saying Mazi is bad but there was alot more production there than a NT
I think the lack of sacks in college shows him to be too slow.

Maybe something the conditioning coach can fix…

Otherwise, he is too slow for passing downs.

He may not make a single tackle, but still be effective if it take two guys to block him....that's frees up LBs to get the stats.
