One of the things that stuck out to me this year, particularly in the Denver and SF games, is that we have taken away Dak’s overall effectiveness by not allowing him to run more. I understand the reasoning, he is a $40 million man, but when you look at the types of defenses that are now killing him, taking off a few times would really soften up the defense.

Look at the tape that Kurt Warner presented in breaking down the failures during the SF game. You will see huge opportunities for Dak to take off at times. The truth is, that is part of what makes him the QB that Dallas paid.

Even Brady has to take off sometimes. Dak needs to do it more in games where the offense isn’t moving and he is getting pressured.

Is it the coaches/Jerry telling him not to run or is it Dak himself being hesitant to run?

I just think this offense needs to become less about Dak and more about offensive line and run game.

He needs to be used like Goff or Jimmy G. Asking Dak to win you games with his natural ability will have you sitting at home watching others play playoff games.

good question. We look at the damage a qb like Josh Allen has done to teams with his legs and I don’t want our Qb to run as much as Allen does but there’s got to be a middle ground at least

when the defense dictates it, take the easy yards and slide

Jerry did say in the off-season he didn't want Dak running because he could get injured. Problems is Dak's appeal was him being a dual threat QB that took care of the ball.

Dak seems to be hesitant if every aspect of his game.
Something changed mid way in the year. And it was not just because of the Denver game exposing dome things. And it is not all on the calf either.

I am starting to wonder, if @MountaineerCowboy was on to something during TC. He kept on saying they were not truthful about his arm injury. And he looked great as if nothing was wrong in the 1st 8 games.
I am sure it was healed. at the time, however, could it then became reinjured. As this was also about the time they stopped throwing down field, or much less anyway.
Also his hesitation showed up more, accuracy went down.
I know, the OL injured, WR's in and out of the gams. Zeke's knee, Pollard's injury.
And hampered by Moore's stupid play calling at times.
But still something was off. In the back of his mind, injuries, not trusting the OL, other players, possibly.

But that came into my thoughts later on with a few games left in the season. I just ddi not want to bring it up at the time.

The rules now are practically made for the QB to get some easy yardage if he chooses to run....just find an open space to slide. If you don't do that, you are hurting your team. The teams with success now like GB, KC, Buffalo, SF, etc all use it to their advantage. It appeared more to me that Dak was hesitant especially after the calf injury. But the season is over, so who cares for now. Lots more problems with the team.

An OL is built our the center....our center is not good.

Other teams watched film....

They found not only run vs pass tendencies but they also saw that they never had to worry about the QB running, or the RB hurting them with a big play.

Add in the rest and Prescotts limitations will be exposed.

The offense was just a pure mess by the end of the season and that's completely on Moore (and Jerry for refusing to give up on Garrett 2.0).

It was called a "Dak slump."

No, he just is what he is, and thats fine....but you've got an owner that wants to justify the contract by featuring him.

Not gonna work Jerry.

It really is a big mess and shameful at how many very good players were wasted around here over the years because the owner refuses to bring in an actually qualified football guy to run things.

He thinks that's him and it isn't. The kid isn't either.

Also fine....but can't expect to win by repeatedly trying to make people something they just arent.
