Notable Passing Down D-line

With Houston seemingly to be our best pass rusher, I think a good D-line on passing downs/3rd and long the DL should consist of:

Houston, Ez, Osa, and Clark, sprinkle in Clowney and I think you're good! Thomas maybe.


Every time Houston makes a play I get excited, I've been watching him a lot since our pre seasons games, and he's shown us a lot so far. Could he be better against the run of course, all of the guys mentioned could be better. With the effort EZ showed against GB, i'm hoping he continues to grow and will be the pass rusher we saw from Boston College which caused us to draft him in the 2nd round! Please give your thoughts

He’s signed thru next year but you could extend that

Yeah but on obvious 3rd and long which we've been really bad at lately I mean when teams can complete 3rd and 11 and 3rd and 15 rather easily we should have a NASCAR package.

Eze-Sam William-Thomas-Houston and bring a LB or Wilson as the 5th threat to blitz..

I think those are the fastest of our pass rushers and all together somebody's gotta beat the guy in front of him I mean I just look at it being that's really good Yes I realize we're pulling out OSA and Clark but again it's a NASCAR package Typically you're not gonna fake a run up the middle on a delayed draw on 3rd and 15 but it could happen but I think I put my fastest guys on there and I think those are them best pass rushers quickest off the line And like I said even Donovan Wilson unless you wanted to bring Murray they're also good in the box quick read and react guys as far as just playing downhill...

Why do people do that can you not just say he's not been great for the Cowboys instead of saying at a 32 teams you think he's the worst defensive end in football really because I bet we could find one worse II just don't know why people have to be so dramatic and use words of such exaggeration Call a player out who by the way his pressure pretty much caused an interception to win our only game against the Giants just be real he's getting pressures and eventually he'll get to it by saying he's the worst That's an absolutely way off base dramatic comment.. .

He's not gonna get the Randy Gregory treatment I'm pretty sure this time Jerry realizes it and they'll do the same thing to him they'll put a knucklehead clause in there and it won't just be about guaranteed money you know like take $100,000 away from him straight out of his salary for every unnecessary penalty and any off field nonsense.

he won't sign it and that will be that for him... I mean for a player like him it has to be a complete escalator he should get the veteran minimum and earn every million by production and not getting himself in trouble and not having knucklehead plays all the time So if my first suggestion seemed out of hypotheticals you can really do that offering the veteran minimum. And then everything he wants to earn have a lot of escalators for each thing he can and can't do on the field make him earn it all or don't sign him that's what they be should be doing with some of these players anyway..

I mean hunters contracts not bad but I would have done the same thing with him No big money veteran minimums whatever that is for his tenure and make them earn it give them ways to make a lot more money....

Mean people talk trash about Tolbert like he shouldn't be resigned he's better than Sam Williams So if you're gonna see an accidental player somebody doesn't want here signed to your chagrin it's gonna be Tolbert...

But I believe they should do the same thing with him some of these guys maybe deserve a spot deserve a new deal but the deal doesn't have to be big it can be the veteran minimum and then offer them lots of bonus money for things they can do on the field..

the best thing that can happen is they either take it or they get mad and they leave... Jones family definitely knows how to get under the skin of some of these players they know what they're doing that's why Randy Gregory took the Denver deal they did it on purpose they put that clause in there knowing he wouldn't sign it but if he did then at least they're covered...
