This is just from my own review of OverTheCap (a) teams that are considered to have an "effective cap space" of less than $5m, and (b) players on their rosters that take up a considerable chunk of the payroll commensurate to their 2023 performance trajectory, and of those, (c) players who would represent a significant cap savings to their current team...

Position / Name / Current Team / Post June 1 Cut Savings / Age

RB Alvin Kamara, Saints ($10.6m) - 29

TE Darren Waller, Giants ($11.6m) - 32

WR Chris Godwin, Bucs ($18.5m) - 28

RT Taylor Moton, Panthers ($14.5m) - 30

LT Trent Williams, 49ers ($20.8m) - 36

CB D.J. Reed, Jets ($10.9m) - 28

Of those listed, it seems more likely than not to me that Kamara, Waller and Moton will be let go, and the others, less likely.

Of those three, Moton probably would be a keeper for CAR if it weren't that he's their most expensive player ($29m cap hit), and not likely to be around next time the Panthers are considered a serious playoff threat. He's a RT, but there has been some consideration from time to time to develop him on the other side... that just never happened, though, and at 30, that ship likely has sailed. Don't see him as being a consideration for an after-draft signing.

Waller, same. Could be signed for depth if someone gets injured in training camp, but with Schoonmaker and Stephens and Hendershot in the mix behind Fergy, doesn't seem likely even in that case.

Kamara is the most likely of those three to warrant some consideration for us. His production has been ebbing as one would anticipate, but then again, he would seem to be as serious a consideration as Zeke. Got to looking at the 23 stats for both, and there's not a lot of difference there. Dang, they're even virtually the same age (both born July 95).

you are correct and there's also a very large free agent pool left and some undrafted free agents will be available this team has a lot of options post draft to build this roster to a level that they'll compete just fine this year but fans are in a hurry to think that all the good players are gone and that they're getting a bad grade for the first two plus weeks of the free agent. With five months in front of us...
