  • Maybe we need to give Tavon Austin more credit for his receiving ability. Austin, working against Chidobe Awuzie, completely lost his balance, falling to the ground. Dak Prescott made the decision to throw the ball in his direction regardless. Austin, tracking the ball, popped up off the ground but was falling backwards. Just at the last moment, he managed to reach up and somehow get both hands on the ball for the reception. It was an incredible play that left Awuzie shaking his head in disbelief.
  • For those of you that wanted Ezekiel Elliott to get more opportunities in the passing game, it was a good day for you. Elliott, working against Jaylon Smith, did a good job of attacking him where Smith was left flat-footed trying to defend him across the field. Prescott showed solid touch by throwing ball out front of Elliott as he separated from Smith

What if Garrett is the coach that finally knows how to use Tavon? Of course a lot of Cowboys fans still would not give him credit.

if he can make it work. camps and seasons are two different things.

Kudos for Garrett trying new things

And just the second day of camp at that. But all indications even in mini camp was that players would be used differently this season not only at WR but RB, QB and our defensive back 7. For better or worse what we look like on the field will look a bit different. I have a feeling that JG will make those differences work.

i have zero problem with it, and JG has some gifts that he doesnt get credit for. Everything about yesterday is over, gotta support the team now and the possibilites are endless right now. Use the camps to create a new culture, lay down new schemes. Even if they keep it that simple, im all for it. Its not going to be easy tho and i dont feel it will be solved in one season. I still dont expect anything this season. However, if there are new changes, other successes, a brand new culture coming out of Dallas, its a success. If its same ol same ol, JG must take the sword.

So far, it seems hes on board with the new coaches. Everyone is laying down their thing. I personally dont feel the draft was 100 percent, but that doesnt mean they cant get 100 percent out of it. Some good talent and im glad he played the rookies from last year. They have field experience, lets see everything pan out. Good or bad i dont care, its going to take time, but the useless and the ugly has to be scrubbed out.

I honestly think we will get off to a fast start this season. Teams have no idea what to expect from us offensively or defensively. We are going to catch teams off guard early. Yes Zeke will run but who else will run? Tavon? Even if we just use Tavon on fake jet sweeps its like an extra blocker because his 4.25 has to be accounted for by the defense. Sure we expect Tank to create havoc on the pass rush but what about our back seven with Kris running the show....will those deflections turn into turnovers now? SL has talked about scheming how they run routes based on the weaknesses of the DB that is covering them. Will this mean every game we will have a different WR leading team in targets? I just think it will take sometime for teams to adjust to our changes. I'm excited to see how it all plays out.
