There will be no Romo implosion this year. He will keep the ship pointed in the right direction. Slow & steady as we go... ;) Garrett is learning from his blatantly obvious shortcomings too. It's coming together folks! I can feel it in my bones!

P.S. News that we will have Lee back does wonders for the mood too. :D

Daryl Johnston just a few minutes ago:

"Turnover average on defense has gone from -12 in recent years to +12 this year. The defense is taking the ball away and Tony has been very good this year at protecting the ball."

Romo's first clutch victory will come in Week 17 vs the Iggles <--- That's me not Daryl. #realtalk

His first "clutch" win will come in an "elimination game"? What's that?

Can someone explain to my why his league leading 11 "clutch" Game Winning Drives don't count? Smh, he's already had a clutch victory, just people take them away once he does it.

And he already has 2 clutch GWD this year, and one came against a divisional foe on the road, if that doesn't count then what the heck does? Lol.

It is exactly as I stated. He will come up huge in that game with it all on the line.

Thats funny. Did you hear what Phil Simms said a few weeks ago? People made up "elimination game" because of Romo. They want to find more ways to knock on him. Are you one of them?

Someone said we signed Clutts and everyone thought they herd "clutch" and took that opportunity to take a shot at Tony

No offense, but I hope he doesn't have to be clutch in week 17. That would imply that we've lost in December to be in that position.

Ok. Guys... I see the error of my ways. I meant to say, he will come up HUGE in that week 17 game. I never meant to insinuate that he has never been clutch. I have definitely had my opinions on Romo dating back 4-5 years but, over the last two years, I have been nothing short of impressed and happy with his overall breadth of work. Everyone is going to have a bad game now & then (case in point, 5 INT Chicago effort last year) but overall he has really turned the corner. I'm excited about what he and the team will do down the stretch.

I'm hopeful that we'll run the table. 11-5 to close out would be incredible. I would consider closing out in that style to be "clutch"...

I gotcha my brother. I thought that's what you were saying the whole time...

We will be launching this year! :D

I hope we do.
Like someone else said- I honestly hope the team plays well enough so that Romo doesn't have to be clutch.
That would be ideal.

Romo's first clutch victory

first
fərst/
number
adjective: first
1
.
coming before all others in time or order; earliest; 1st.

It can't be his "first one" if he's had 2 others this year and 11 dating back since 2009. I had no issues with the clutch part, but you put "first" before clutch insinuating he's yet to be clutch. It doesn't seem like you meant it that way, but if that wasn't your intention then make sure to proof read. :p

Adding the word "first" before clutch victory changes it up completely. :D

And yes, hopefully he's clutch in week 17. But I'd honestly rather week 17 be meaningless and we take care of business before then. We shall see.

About time people starting asking when the defense is going to be clutch or come through in a big game or win a game for us in December.

because they have not in years. every time #9 gives them a lead they find new and more incredible ways to blow them. Every time.

its too bad most fans are way too lazy or are really fantasy football fans and not nfl fans to realize this.

I have zero doubt about romo's ability or what he will do, I also have zero doubt that for every 7 he helps put on the board the defense will give seven right back via mistakes and penalties shifting the weight back on romo's shoulders.......No matter how much we score its not going to be enough in a few of these games because the defense is worse than terrible and as bad as it has ever been.

that is why I wouldn't even think about signing hatcher or bringing back spencer. The whole thing needs to be rebuilt and run by a new staff.

its the defense that has been holding us back for years. For every great play romo has made throughout the years the defense has made two bad ones. And in the odd case when the defense has held its own like Pittsburgh in 08 we make a special teams error, like we did in NY in 09 also.

Seven Coordinators, a ton of free agent money and a ton of high picks and it has always been a notch below average.

Any level headed person can step back and see it has been romo holding this thing together all along, without him ol coach no nuts would have a bottom feeding offense that would guarantee the unit be as bad as the defense and would make this a 4-12 team every year.

The "ability" is there that can't be argued we see it every season it's what's going on between his ears during elimination games that concerns me. It's overcoming his demons when it's all on the line that will put an end to the negative perception many have of him. Romo has elite skills it's being able to do in an elimination game what he did vs Minn and the Giants the past few weeks that will change some of the negativity that surrounds him. It's going to take winning a championship to completely remove the stigma he has but getting it done in a tight do or die game will start to change this negative perception that's been hovering over him since the fumbled snap in Seattle during the 06 playoffs.

Romo isn't who I'm worried about when the tough games are played every year. Do I wish he were super-human and capable of erasing all the craptastic OL and defensive efforts ala Manning/Rodgers/Brady? Sure, but I think the more realistic route is to fix the OL and defense. The OL is almost decent, the defense remains atrocious.

Romo already has quite a few "clutch" victories on his resume. I see where you're coming from, though.:)

The defense is the biggest concern especially as bad as it's been this season. After 12 games the defense is setting franchise futility records in 5 categories. The last 2 seasons the defense has caved the final 2 games. The poor defensive performances have put Romo and the offense in a tough spot. If the defense doesn't start to step up in the next few weeks the Cowboys are going to fold tent again. This is the time of year when you have to start playing your best football and with Philly hot riding a 4 game winning streak the Cowboys have got to start putting it together or this season will end just like the last two seasons.
