My son's hockey team was in a tournament in Victoria BC over the weekend and ended up winning the Gold in its tier. His team is a very young team, mostly first year Atom with half the first year kids being born in the last seven weeks of the calendar year so they can be playing against other boys almost two years older.

They were not having a great season so far but ended up winning their tournament and now their confidence is soaring.

Nothing is cooler than seeing your son smiling through his face mask as his name was called to pick up his Gold. My wife's eyes were watering.

Here he is getting his medal.

Awesome!

Brings me back to my childhood days. Started playing ice hockey when I was 7 through high school and played on select teams. Looks like it's exactly what your kids are doing. Good times!

Hockey is a great sport; they will remember this stuff forever.

Do they collect other teams pins and that stuff? I still have my collection from all the tournaments I played in, always loved doing that.

Congrats, CCF! That's definitely a great a confidence booster for the kids, especially if they had a rough start to their season. I can imagine how proud You, and your wife are.

I agree with Rasta, hockey is a great sport. I had a great time playing hockey, even though I wasn't very good at it. Of course, it could be because I didn't start playing until my late 30s. :D
