Nothing has changed

It 'll be a good one, but I don't think this is the same Cowboy team that last lost their 2nd straight game on November 4.

The defense is more injured now than it was back in Nov and Ware looks like a shell of himself. The performance by the defense today was dreadful by far the worst defensive performance all season. I have zero confidence the defense will step up and control RG3 and Alfred Morris.

If they couldn't do it a few weeks ago they won't be able to do it now as beat up as the defense is, All the momentum the Cowboys had built the last few weeks is gone. Washington is flying high with 6 straight wins. The Cowboys are in real trouble next week.

DeMarcus Ware needs to find himself a hyperbaric chamber before next weekends game!

A little perspective. The Cowboys started 3-5, and have a chance to win the division next week.

The Commanders might be too fast for our linebackers, thats what scares me. Also Ware seems to be banged up.

Looking forward to next week. Both teams certainly have put their stake to the division title, and next week we will see how it turns out. Win and in, Loser goes home (most likely).

Try rewatching that skins game. We had guys out all over. A least some of them will be back Sunday. Missing 14 guys is a big deal, especially when guys are going out during the game.

The skins do not have the ability to create the matchup problEms the saints did today.

We played them four days after an extremely physical overtime game with Cleveland. Parnell, dockery and Mack playing as starters. No Murray and lost Austin in first qtr.

Plus they took a legit Td off the board from bryant because an official fell down and inadvertently blew a whistle.

This wil be a different game entirely.

Skins started 3-6. Both teams really have stepped up in a big way in the second half of the season.

I'm just thrilled we're still in it. The pressure is all on Washington, and if this team could take the Aints into overtime with the way our D played today, we can beat the Skins. We might want to spend some time this week covering the running backs on pass plays, though. A lot of time...

I think the pressure is squarely on you guys.
  • You played in this exact scenario last year.
  • The Skins have a different way in, although that may be closed if this game gets flexed and either the bears or vikings win.
  • The Skins can rest on a 4 game improvement from last year, and several young players who have stepped up in this 6 game run.

The Commanders also started 3-5 and have won 6 straight. Plus they know they can beat the Cowboys having already done so convincingly a few weeks ago and they have the home field next week. Not easy winning do or die games on the road the last one the Cowboys won that was do or die for them and their opponent was SB XXX.

We had guys out but Ware wasn't as injured then as he is now and that's going to be huge next week facing RG3. Ware looks totally ineffective right now he's hurt and certainly won't be right next week. The Skins may not be able to create the matchup problems the Saints did but they created enough problems to have the Cowboys down by 25 points at halftime on Thanksgiving. RG3 gives the Skins a duel threat that Brees didn't bring to the table. What I saw today from the defense was alarming. I hope I'm wrong but I think Washington wins going away next week.

RG3 can hurt you too many ways and the Cowboys defense can't be feeling very confident after what he did to them a few weeks ago and what the Saints did to them today. The Cowboys defense is not opportunistic as we saw with the fumble in OT. They blow too many opportunities to get turnovers. How they didn't recover that fumble in OT is beyond me. I think the game next week will be tight early on but heading into the 4th quarter I see the Skins taking control.

However if the Cowboys get off to their usual slow start it wouldn't surprise me if they suffer a real beat down. Their crowed is going to be at a fever pitch it's going to feel like the old days at RFK. The Cowboys better fasten their chinstraps!

The Cowboys have been in dire straits since they were 3-5 and three games out of first. They're not suddenly in "real trouble" to be playing for the division next week.

As far as winning next week is concerned I think the Cowboys are "real" trouble. I hope I'm wrong but the defense I saw today and vs Washington on Thanksgiving is going to be up against it next week. With Ware ineffective due to his health it could be a long one in front of that Washington crowd that will no doubt have the Skins pumped.

The reason the Cowboys have been in dire straights all season is due to inconsistency. When your QB passes for over 400 yards with 4 TD's and you still lose because your defense can't make a stop virtually all day that's a concern. One of the main reasons the Cowboys keep losing these do or die games is because the defense can't make stops on 3rd down or create turnovers.

This is not an opportunistic defense and it reared it's ugly head again yesterday. The defense folded against the Giants in the season finale last year. Everytime we get right down to crunch time the defense starts looking real shaky. If Romo doesn't have his A+ game next week the Cowboys could be done with this defense that gave up over 560 yards yesterday.

Our fans just can't wait to be the first to roll over and publicly call it quits. It's just...gross.

But, whatever. Playing for the NFCE again, all the marbles, on the road against Washington finally. I'm stoked. Just like I was stoked last year. And, no, the season is not a failure if we lose this game. The organization really is changing, and we really are adding talent as we go. It's not necessary for everybody to be on board for it to happen, but it sure makes watching the games more fun from my perspective.

We can readily win this game and get into the playoffs. This Skins team isn't a whit better than any of the teams we've played the last three weeks. And I actually like the fact that this game is on the road and that we'll be seen as the underdogs coming in. We're going to steal it in the 4th quarter, and they're not going to know what hit them. Our fans will be talking again about how much Jason Garrett's getting better at play calling, and how we might steal a couple playoff games and maybe make it to the Superbowl. Then I'll be rolling my eyes at them again for an entirely different reason.
