The first thought that struck my mind this morning was the Cowboys game tonight. The anticipation and intensity for playoff football is unmatched in my sports world.

While I don’t attend many games anymore( last playoff game was 2014 ) I’ll always have the memories for over 5 decades hundreds of games and several playoff games.

Life just doesn’t get any better than the Cowboys in the playoffs. I have a few friends attending today and will be in contact. While I don’t really miss the hustle and bustle at my age anymore of attending games , I do miss the playoff atmosphere.

I’ve tried to lower my attachment and expectations this era for the Cowboys but the emotions from those early playoff appearances in the 60’s , to the championship runs in the 70’s from the disappointments in 80’s culminating to the glorious 90’s my blood still flows blue and silver for days like this. We’ve got almost 12 hours to kick off and I’m pumped up. I may have to take a nap later. Lol

Go Cowboys!!

Diehard, how do you think we will do against the run? Why have we been gashed lately? I'm worried their backs are going to have big holes to run through...........

It’s definitely a concern. While I’m excited as always for the playoffs I don’t have confidence we will win tonite but there’s always hope.

Key stats:
We’ve only lost once when Dak doesn’t turn it over.
We’re undefeated when we score 20 points or more this year.

Intensity means a lot in this game. Sometimes in meaningless games or so called "trap" games things can go awry. But we seen what this D can do against the run when we played the Saints. Or first game against the Giants. I don't see Seattle gashing us tonight.

I woke up at 3 am. Reached for my phone to check the CZ. Couldn't go back to sleep. Been posting since 5am. I hope it's good and not a big let down.

I think the key for Dallas is getting the lead early so we can pound the rock with Elliott controlling time of possession and keep pressure off Dak.

If we get behind and forced to throw the ball to keep pace or come from behind , we leave ourself vulnerable. And then let defense control which are tougher with a lead.

My 22 year old son is a huge Cowboys fan like myself. He has been very good at predicting games this year. Before the Saints game he told me he had a real good feeling about it. He is guaranteeing a victory tonight. I told him he needs to prepare himself in case he gets let down but he say NO, we are winning this game because of our Defense. I hope he is correct. My thoughts are that if we play well, we will win because I think we are better and especially at home. Russell Wilson scares me to death though, I'm not going to lie. My biggest concern lies with Garrett and how motivated he has the team coupled with his game plan in general. I really don't trust Garrett in a game like this.....

Its all I can think about. I'm 50 and been a fan since I was 7 years old. I remember watching Dallas vs Denver in the SB at my grandmas house in the 70
s when we won 27-10. I wish I wasn't so heavily invested in this team because the losses bother me so much. its really dumb..........

Well said. The finality of it all is just so intense. Football is a year round sport practically and these guys are practicing from April/May on. The low of losing vs the euphoria of winning in the playoffs is too intense.
