Nothing Matters Sunday Night except stopping the run

Stopping the run. If Dallas can stop the SF run game, then we have a chance.
  • Then the secondary play and pass rush matter
  • Then our OL matters
  • Then Dak and Lamb matter
  • Then coaching matters
If the defense cannot shut down the SF run game, then nothing else matters. We will lose.

Very very true, if they control the T.O.P. and score when they need to, game is over, we MUST slow them down. We have to stay in our lanes, be smart, and act like we've played football before!

100% true. If you can't physically stop the other team, they'll just continue to pound you for 60 minutes. Why wouldn't they?
I remember playing in pickup games of tackle football when I was in my teens. We had a core group of 8 or 9 guys and we were good. We could runblock ANYONE. As a joke, we'd invite the other team into our huddle, call a running play and lineup. We'd still ram it down their throats. That's why good running teams win. There's really no strategy to stop something you CAN'T stop.

Let me see if I get this right - the Dallas offense needs the defense to have a monster game for the offense to be successful. How is that? The offense still has to put points on the board no matter what the defense is doing. So what if the defense holds SF to 17, which would be a decent performance, but the offense sucks so bad they only score 10?

This is true but winning this game isn't about players match up. You have to outcoach Shanahan......he's a defensive version of Belichick. He will find your defensive weakness and attack it all night until you stop it. It would surprise me if Purdy has more than 20-25 pass attempts.

Everyone here should be hoping we get beat by 40.
You can cheer for whatever you want - but if they put a couple of wins together the season is still salvageable…I’d rather see them in it at thanksgiving st least, makes it more fun

Define salvageable. Who the hell is going to say it was a successful season if they end up 8-9 and get stomped - again - in the 1st wildcard game?

It also reinforces Jerry's opinion that he knows what he is doing and doesn't need to make a single change this off-season.

That he's only a piece of two away.

I get it man, but the offseason is long enough…I have given up any hope on Jerry jones ever realizing anything.

That being the case, I am hoping for two things 1 the cowboys players and coaches find a way to make something good out of this season despite him and 2 that he does not have functional ability to be the GM much longer

It’s entertainment, thanksgiving is much more fun with the cowboys playing for something, as is December, as are the playoffs…at this point I’m just concerned on the steps to keep the season going.

Once they are down that rabbit hole of losing I will get on team tank and hope for the losing,..but at 3-3 and with a realistic chance still to be a double digit win team and make the playoffs I am still not ready to pull for a loss

I can't say I have ever watched a Thanksgiving day game with that on my mind. To me it's always been nothing more than football on Thanksgiving. The Lions game is always the warmup game followed by the headlining event. But it really should be the other way around - Dallas should be demoted to the early game, and for no other reason than to get under Jerry's skin. Let's be honest, the Lions deserve to be the prime time game far more than Dallas.

I have Jordan Mason on one of my fantasy teams.

Let's just say, I'm definitely starting him.
