In 08, the Cowboys had the highest tv rated games and they were the largest seller of NFL products at NFL shop. I looked for other sources of sales leaders but couldn't find any. Trust me the Cowboys were the top sellers. The NFL SHOP is the major distributor of NFL properties.ESPN has been beating their heads against the wall but the Dallas Cowboys are the most popular team in the NFL and remain Americas' Team. They keep on mentioning Dallas' lack of success the last dozen years but the Steelers and Packers had more success then the Cowboys when Dallas got the nickname in 79? Dallas just has more appeal.

Great point. The fact is that it's when the Cowboys struggle that they are proven to truly be America's Team. No playoff win in 13 years, but the ratings and sales are through the roof. When they win, there are some bandwagon hoppers, but the fan base has been invincibly huge for nearly 40 years now. People talk about the Steelers and Packers, but I have NEVER heard a network executive say "When in doubt, give 'em the Steelers/Packers." But that is exacty what has been said about the Cowboys. I can't wait for the Dallas Cowboys to become consistently successful again. We got a glimpse of it in 2007. I know the good times are about to roll again.

but, but, but, the steelers are America's team.
I honestly wish that the term 'America's Team' would stop being thrown around by the media every year about this time. Or at least do some research into the origins of it.

By the way, Bob Sacamano, you have by far the best signature on this message board. That is the funniest picture I've seen in quite some time.
