Definitely look better than last year, but still need some polishing up.

Jimmy Clausen looks A LOT better than he did last year. 2 ints, but both of them were Duval Kamara's fault. One of those ints should have been a TD.

Speaking of Duval Kamara, I don't know if it was just this game or if that's just what he is, but he freakin' sucked today. One pass hit him right between the numbers that he let bounce off his chest for an int. Then he gets a fade pass where he would have had PERFECT position and an EASY TD, but he decided to play defense and face guard the DB instead (yes, it was freakin' stupid). He had inside position, would have been a TD if it were thrown to a competent 6'5" 225 lb WR.

The defense tackled well, but didn't really see anyone stand out.

The OL looks a billion times better than last year, but they were so horrible last year that it's not saying much.

Who did they play?

Wasn't judging them based on their opponent. Was pointing out how they looked, regardless of who they played or whether they won or not.

I'm a Notre Dame supporter, not a fan, and the fact that they looked good is a joke. They were lucky to beat a team that lost to Cal Poly today. They didn't look any better than last year. Weis has to go, and he take his atkins diet with him.

I agree with basically everything you said. I could not believe Kamara's startegy on that 2nd INT. I turned to my friend and said "That's Kamara's 2nd INT today" and after the game said "Clausen looked great today, 3 TDs, 0 INTs." I don't recall seeing Kamara on the field really after that 2nd INT so I think Weis yanked him.

As bad as the game went, in relation to expectations, I'll agree that we did see some good things. Clausen, Tate, Allan, and the Offensive Line all looked SIGNIFICANTLY better than last year.

I wasn't as enthused by the defense as Rack, however. I loved Kyle McCarthy's play, but I thought the rest of the unit was pretty underwhelming.

Looking at their schedule it looks like another 4-8, 5-7 year for the Irish.

You came up with that after looking at their schedule? Their schedule is a joke. If they don't win 7, South Bend will implode.

I watched the entire game. They did NOT look good....but for a fumble by a TERRIBLE SDSU team at the goal line, ND would have lost...most likely.

They may have looked better than last year but that isn't saying much.

In fairness, ND fumbled on SDSU's 3, botched a gimme FG snap, missed another FG, and threw an INT inside the redzone (aforementioned Kamara play). That's 4 scoring opportunities where they came away with 0 points. So we can say "If not for all those plays, ND could have won by 4 TDs."

Point well taken - but if you can't wipe out a team like SDSU, you have some real problems.

Can't disagree with you there.

I'm hopeful (delusional?) that mistakes like that won't be an issue going forward.

:hammer:

San Diego State also lost to Cal-Poly last week.

Of course the Hack Lou Holtz claimed they were just looking ahead to Michigan, but he failed to mention that they already lost .

With this schedule, Notre Dame should win 9 games, but looking how they played today, 7 is more realistic.

So what was Ohio States excuse for looking so poor against Ohio?

Jimmy Clausen is really Sandra Bernhardt.

Last time I checked, this isn't an Ohio State thread.

Oh, what was up with Claussens hair? Man, the guy has all these streaks and ****, he looks like a woman.

They bareley beat SDSU, who lost to Cal Poly last week, time for the media to start up the National Championship talk.
