Novacek: Cowboys are playing cocky

Living in NC, I long for 75 degree weather. We are in a major drought here and it has been hot (90+) for months.

75 would seem like winter to me. :D

Yeah, but its not gonna last here.

Do you think that training indoors at the Alamodome has had a negative effect on the Cowboys so far this season, the way some in the media said it would?

Is Novack supposed to be Novacek?

Novack.... wasnt he a character on that show "Crime Story" LOL

Anyways... I dont see cockiness.... I see a team that looks like they want to win.... feels like they should win..... truly wants to win for Wade and Garrett.... and of course themselves....

Besides.. .even if they were/are a little cocky... it beats feeling/looking like you shouldnt win the game... there was a time no long ago... when you could see it in their faces that the game was slipping away as time was running down... those days are pretty much effectively over...

Early in the Rams game, there was no score and Romo had just thrown a pick that was returned to about the 25 yard line. Romo and TO and a couple other guys on the sideline were basically laughing about it. Maybe that's being relaxed, maybe that confidence, but it seemed almost lackadaisical. If I had been there, I might have been a little more keyed up than those guys.

Novacek is right. Dallas should beware of cockiness, which causes you to ignore dangers and not prepare for them.

But I don't think it is a problem yet.

No no.....in Buffalo and where I live...we have 3 feet of snow. It's minus 10 and my igloo is really cold at nights. Well I should leave soon with my dogsled, it's a long trip to Buffalo.

:lmao: :lmao:

Yeah those 90's team NEVER played with any cockiness or swagger. I hope we continue this. Other teams need to realized were not messing around and we will not let up regardless of the score. Pound the opposition into submission. It's a far cry from last year's team.

whats the opposite of cocky? not believing in themselves?

ill take a cocky team over a team that doesnt believe they could win.

It's not one extreme or the other is what Novacek is intimating...Cocky is analogous to overconfident whereas confident and hardworking doesn't equate to being timid.

He's probably right and I don't think he meant that to slam the team. You need to be cocky when you play sports.

He probably meant it as SWAGGER.....

If you listen to the players, Witten and Romo, and to Phillips, this team isn't getting cocky. They know what's in front of them and the've at least said all the right things so far.

I figure Novacek isn't paying attention to weather outside his area and might be watching TO wired for the NFL Network or something. I don't see them as cocky at all, just confident.

Maybe Jay is a little bitter because the team of the 90's had the triplets label.... if it had been called a quartet or the quadruplets then maybe he wouldnt be the way he is....:lmao2:
