The Packers were the team of the 60's - 65,66,67 + first 2 SB's
Have a total of 12 championships

The Steelers were the team of the 70's - won 4 SB's

The 49ers were the team of the 80's - won 4 SB's (+1 we gave in 90's)

The Cowboyss were the team of the 90's - won 3 SB's (missed on atleast one more)

The Patriots were the team of the 00's - have 3 already and could get one or two more before decade is out.

So what I am mad about... the fact that we are the only dynasty that didnt get 4 in their decade of reign.

No NFL team will ever again have 20 straight winning seasons.

We've participated in 20% of the Super Bowls played, including this year's which hasn't been played yet. Far more than any other team.

BTW, the NFCE has 10 Super Bowl wins and has represented the NFC in 17 of the 40 Super Bowls. That's 43% of them counting this year. In other words we've had our success by winning what is clearly the dominant Division in NFL History.

Feel better?

I didn't even mention the fact that we got jobbed by the refs in 2 of those Super Bowls or we would have been the team of the 70's too.

Benny Barnes interference my butt.

I'll never be convinced on the Mel Renfro play in V either.

Well, we're the only one with at least two in two different decades.

And the Steelers and 49ers both won their fourth Super Bowl after the next decade had begun -- Steelers in 1980 and 49ers in 1990.

I concur.....You will not get an argument from me.

We were very close in the 60's as well.....66 & 67 playoff games Vs GB.....still makes me want to puke.

Just when I was finally able to erase it from my memory bank, you had to go and bring it back up again! ;)

Sorry Drae. If you want to feel better remember the butt kickings you rendered on me in Fantasy Football this year.

Not wanting to make you feel worse, Hos, but it gives me little consolation considering that Scott_David had the game of his life against me in the playoffs, forcing me to have to settle for nothing better than a third place finish. :(

Now that the memory of the blown call against Barnes has reared its ugly head again, I do seem to remember reading an article where even Pete Rozelle admitted that the referee had made a bad call.

And I agree with you. Had a few lucky breaks gone for us in both Superbowls against the hated Steelers, Dallas would have been the team of the 70s...

...and would have had at least three more players in the HoF.

Calculate and run all the numbers you want to. Point out this many championships here or this many there. That all doesn't matter.

Everyone hates us. There is no more hated team in football than the Dallas Cowboys.

I can't think of a better compliment to what we have achieved.

It does matter to me. I wanted more out of the 90's Dynasty. The Finely tuned race car was tinkered with.

Thank Jimmy.

I don't think we would have taken the "draft backups" disaster of a strategy had he not left.

I agree but don't you think that the reason why we're the most hated team in football is because of the number of championships we have along with our overall winning percentage? Without these accomplishments, fans of opposing teams could care less about the Dallas Cowboys.

So yes, it does matter.

Jerry gets a pass?

It was both of their faults and they both know what they missed out on...

Not a pass, but Jerry is the owner and boss. He shelled out hundreds of millions of dollars to have a say. Did Jimmy?

I put more of the blame on Jimmy's ego than Jerry personally.
