It’s no secret that having a great season starts with having great off-season. We have now entered the most important period of off-season. NOW is the time when great off-seasons are forged. Not in July. NOW through May.

In the next few weeks, we will see if our front office is serious when they say this year will be different. It won’t happen at a bus press conference, a radio show or impromptu interview at league meetings.

Our off-season will 100% be judged by the action (or inaction) of our FO starting NOW. If they give us another hide out on free agency, taking few chances in trades or cuts, and take another medical redshirt in the draft, we will know nothing has changed.

If they finally take action on a plan to get better through wise and meaningful FA and drafting immediate help in the draft, that’s a good step forward. We will see very soon.

Now is the time. Not for talk or bus press conferences. NOW is the time for action.

I'm stoked.... Remember January 2024 when Jerry proclaimed it was time to go "all in"? Maybe he's finally getting around to doing that.

Or maybe he's just blowing smoke up everyone's rear ends like he always does.

Yeah every Cowboy fan has every right to say, “I will believe it when it happens.” That’s where I’ve been for years.

But it’s going to take a lot more than the words of the oldest and most talkative GM in NFL history to make me believe.

Hope and belief are two very separate things.

Now is definitely the time, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that trading more picks for hugely paid vet players is the answer.

They have so many damn holes they need what little draft capital they have to hit, AND make significant use of FA.

Years of ineptitude aren’t going to be erased at once just because they’ve finally decided to actually try.

Dallas neeeds at least 2 really good off-seasons of great drafts and using FA to upgrade the team to possibly make this team a contender. I'm hoping for some action monday-wednesday.

Over the last five years we add dead last in free agent spending. Jerry was asked about free agency in his combine bus interview. This is where Jerry said he would “bust the budget”

15:05 - 17:39

J: “I would bet that we’ll spend more money in free agency than we have”

Q: there’s a difference between being more aggressive and “busting the budget”.

J: “Well, we’re ‘semanticing’ here. First of all, I want you to know that the only way to push more is for me to go borrow some of my future, ok? Expect me to go borrow some of my future”

J: (on defense investment). “I think that would be the area where you would see me bust the budget. I guess, what I am doing is saying yes, that I intend to do that if given the opportunity.”

So, he’s saying it again. Like you say, we’ll see if he’s just glowing smoke again.

The cap numbers are bad, but his former intern, Adam Prasifka, who is paid to run the cap, his boss, Todd Williams and Cap Boy Stephen himself, should be expert enoughto figure it out, so we should not be willing to accept excuses.

If there is a plan I sense that it would have to be from Schotty, CP, and Adams. That is, if Jerry is giving them the autonomy to hatch one.
Fans: “You guys said “all in” and “bust the budget”. We want one ‘ribeye’, a ‘filet’ and a ‘NY Strip’.”

Schottenheimer, CP and Adams: “we hear you and that’s what we asked for. Jerry gave us his credit card and we went to the butcher. Unfortunately, all we could afford was some ‘flank steak’, an ‘eye of round’ and some ‘beef tongue’
